My system 90 vacuum needs to be taken apart to clean after I over filled the disposable bag. Would like to be able to get the motor out to clean it.
On the side of the vacuum there are rubber guards. These slide off....pull them off with a pair of needle nose.pull the slides off from the front. then open the front cover,at the bottom there are a couple little "nibs" that hold front off..Gently put a flat screw driver in and pull up..The machine will then be readt to open.best way is to put machine upside down and take the bottom off...
SOURCE: Electrolux Epic 6500SR Full Bag sensor working, Does not Reset properly
The problem was a sticking switch that was not being reset. The vacuum on/off switch mechanism is comprised of two switches. One is the main switch that turns the vacuum on and off. The second is a shut off switch that gets tripped when the full bag sensor is engaged. This second switch is supposed to get reset when you push the on/off switch on the outside of the machine. The full bag shutoff switch was stiff and it, therefore, was taking a couple of presses of the on/off switch to move the shutoff switch back into the running position.

Either there is something wrong with your switch. Which it doesnt sound like it. Take it to your dealer or call another one it sounds like the control valve needs to be replaced. I am a dealer 1-866-966-9350.
SOURCE: OPENING CANISTER UP TO SEE IF BEARINGS OR MOTOR IS GONE
You really don't want to get into the vacuum. After you get in, there's not much that you can do other than look. If you really want to get in, there are two strips, one on each side of the cleaner under the rubber bumpers. The strips have to be removed by pulling off the bumper and pull them out the front of the vac. This is not easy. The bearings are not replaceable. If the armature is gone, you can have a armature and bracket kit installed instead of a new motor and save some money. The armature comes with the bearing pressed on the top.
SOURCE: I have an older electolux vacuum. It says Epic
Vacuum either has a clog or full bag that is overheating the vacuum causing the thermal switch to shut it down.
Hope this helps.
