Korg pa 800 gone dark

Hello pete, You may remember selling a Korg Pa 800 keyboard last year september, if not just to let you know I am the guy that purchased it. Recently my screen has had a problem. It is very dark not like usual when i turn it on. After 5 minutes it goes back to normal for 2 seconds and then goes dark and then this rythym continues like a light bulb being switched off and on. However the system works fine all the sounds and styles. Can you give me any advice on why this may be happening? Do you any where in the middlands where I can get this repaired or dealt with. Thanks

Sounds like your keyboard screen is going bad, You need to contact Korg and order one, you can do it yourself or they have authorized repair shop around your house.
Good luck

SOURCE: Hi I have a problem with RAM memory korg pa 800 in

If it says there is a RAM memory error, there is likely a bad module. If you installed these yourself, it is likely you have installed the wrong type or an incompatible configuration of the modules.

USUALLY the modules need to be identical in these synths. When upgrading, buy a complete set fot the unit and ones that are specifically guaranteed for it.

SOURCE: KORG PA 800

Many of these pedal have more than switches. Some use resistors as part of a matrix. The chances of success are only 50-50 unless you rewire the FC01 to be exactly the same as the EC5.

SOURCE: Hello i have a korg pa 800 just a while ago

If this is not a low power supply problem, you might try circuit cooler to isolate the bad part.

Beyond the power supply I would recommend taking this to a shop for repair ONCE you have tried a factory reset.

I can`t load the OS in my KORG PA 80. No way to make it work. I think than the problem is the mother board.

Have you tried it with batteries? Are you sure the power supply is working correctly? It should not need the OS to operate as a keyboard disconnected from the computer.

The cable connection is just a MIDI cable that uses opto-isolators so the 2 items are electrically isolated from each other. The software driver for the Korg should load without problem. The Korg program itself may be looking for inputs that are not there when the keyboard is off and the program itself reaches a stop command.

If the PA80 will not work on just the power supply- the power supply can be the fault- it has an internal fuse. Finding a similar supply with the same coaxial plug wired the same polarity is the way to test it if the battery option is not available.
