Background on copies, possible dirty charge roller , I cleaned all optics is there an adjustment to perform to help eliviate this background

Hi,
yes it could be chatge rollers fault, but how many copies does developer have? I would clean the charge roller with water, dry it, and change the developer. On these digital machine, when you have backround wich is dark, these means that developer is worn out and you need to change it and clean developer cylindar. When the optics is dirty the image will be light, not dark!!!!! Only on analog copiers when optics is dirty the copy is dark, and when the developer is worned out the copy is light!!!!

Hi,

if you have a laser printer you may need to clean the printer or install a new drum cartridge, if it is ink-jet you will have to clean the bottom of the ink cradle it sound like you getting grey background from a toner/drum cartridge.

Laser Printer Cleaning

Does the dirty background get lighter as you print additional pages? Have you tried a new cartridge yet? Unless your toner cartridge is leaking toner (you?ll see toner on the inside of the printer or leaking out if you remove the cartridge and shake) a simple cleaning is probably not the answer. Let me know and we'll pick up later.
