I have a WD media player and my HD crashed recently. I installed a new one but i now get an error message saying that my HD is not detected yet it works fine on the PC - please assist.

If it works OK on you PC and not in the WD, it suggests to me that you have the disk incorrectly formatted. Most media players use a Linux format not a windows format (fat or ntfs). Try deleting the partition in the PC and then format it with the WD. I presume that you replaced it with the same size disk as many of them will not use anything larger than the original size.

Every tym i insert my pendrive it says insert disk into the drive...???removable disk appears..but it doesnt opns...is there any solution...plz do help me

Assumption 1
Flash drive is damaged, the normal operating system.
Solution
If the flash drive is detected (eg; detected the flash drive in drive G), but it says "insert the disk into the drive ..."
1. Download software JetFlash Online Recovery (open link - select type software - select OS Windows - select language English - select product JetFlash All Series - Download).
2. Insert the flash drive
3. Open file OnLineRecovery.exe - Select the volume of the device - Repair the drive & keep data existed - START. If it fails, select Repair the drive & erase all data - START.

If the flash drive is not detected (not detected as drive G),
the above solution can not be used.

Assumption 2
Normal flash drive, the operating sytem is corrupt
Solution
Flash drives do not require drivers (plug and play). Because flash drives plug and play, it should be, when the flash drive inserted detects the operating system without installing drivers. But, if the operating system does not detect, the possibility of operating systems corupt. The cause is a virus corrupt your operating system.

1. Download and install anti-virus Avira or AVG (free).
2. Update anti-virus
3. Scan your computer.
4. Repair the operating system.
5. If no virus is detected, the possibility of operating system is corrupt.

I hope this information helps.

I have 4gb pendrive usb is detected when i use in usb port but says no disk when i try to format it.please help me all the possible ways to format it.i have tried disk management, even tried transcend...

Sounds like you have a "dead" drive. You may be out of luck. Something may however be causing it to not work depending on the ways you may have formatted it such as if you intially used Linux to format it but these chances are slim.

My 4 GB V30 Transcend pendrive is not getting detected in any OS (linux and windows 7). In windows its saying that driver software installation failed. And in device manager its coming as unknown device....

try to open in another computer see if it opens there n get ur data first coming to the unknown device issue, firstly insert ur pendrive to usb slot firmly then refresh your comp for about 5 times wait till the drivers are installed open "my computer" n see if the pendrive icon is displayed if its displayed double click n start using . If the above procedure does not work first time do repeat it ur pendrive will work for sure

My hp media centerm7250n computer wont boot up from the recovery dvd sounds as if the hard drive is spinning

Disconnect the "data" and "power" cables from the disk-drive.
Boot from the Recovery DVD, just to prove that your computer can boot. Of course, you may get an error-message, when no disk-drive is detected, but you will have proved that your computer can boot properly.

Connect a different disk-drive, and boot again from the Recovery DVD, to confirm that it will boot, when some "other" disk-drive is detected.

Sansa Fuze player will not connect to the computer

Hello,

The Sansa Fuze information support is on next site:
http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3249/

Sansa Fuze can connect in either MTP or MSC mode.
MTP is Media Transfer Protocol when a software program like Windows
Media Player 10 or higher is installed.
MSC is Mass Storage Class when the player is detected as an external flash drive in "My Computer".

The connection mode can be set to one of the following USB modes:
auto detect:
the player will connect in MTP or MSC mode. It depends on the drivers that are installed for the USB ports for the operating system and extra media software, if the data on the player can be detected. In auto detect
mode, MTP mode detection is only possible when having Windows Media Player 10 or higher installed.
mtp:
detection on operating system Windows XP SP2 or higher, in Windows Media Player 10 or higher.
msc:
detection on operating system Windows in the explorer in "My Computer" and on MAC operating system.

Look in the manual on page 35 = page 38 in the pdf file, how to switch the USB mode under System Settings in the player:

Iriver chinx

There is probably a software disk that came with the player. Install that first with it unplugged and then try again. If you dont have the disk then look for it on the iRiver website.
