What did you do to reposition the handlebars, did you take the right side perch and switch housing apart or off. If so you may have pinched or otherwise damaged the wires or you may have damaged the run/stop switch or the start switch. If you had other wires apart or exposed check them for pinching or other damage as well. If you do not hear the starter relay click you have damaged something in the wiring before it and likley it is in the switch housing or the handlebars themselves.

SOURCE: Handlebar Limitations For Super Glide

Stupid site just deleted my answer. I'll just say 6" pullback risers. Don't get mini apes because you'll have to buy the control cables and lines for an FDWG.

Try aftermarket akin to a De Luxe riser and clamp setup. It'll still cost you.

SOURCE: does anyone know how to program the keyless remote

The HD alarm is REALLY complicated. 10 pages in the manual. I'd have the dealer order you an owner's manual for about $20. If you just can't start the bike, one long push on the remote sets it and 2 quick clicks turn it off.

Solenoid stinking on my HD street Glide

Possible reasons:

Bad starter relay
Bad solenoid

Was the right handlebar switch housing opened before this started?
The starter button wire might have been pinched when reassembling, and it finally wore the insulation to the point where now it's grounding out.

The starter switch itself could have gone bad.

2006 Harley Davidson street glide brake light stays on

Try loosening the bolts holding the front master cylinder on the handlebars. Slide the master cylinder down as close as possible to the right handlebar switch housing. If this doesn't work, the front brake light switch is probably bad and needs to be replaced in the right switch housing.

Good luck

I just purchased a 2008 Street Glide and the brake light only goes off if I push the front brake lever forward to take pressure of the switch. Is there an adjustment to take the pressure off the switch? ...

Make sure the brake master cylinder is positioned firmly back against the switch housing. Loosen the two bolts that hold the master cylinder onto the handlebars and slide it back against the switch as firmly as possible. If this does not correct the problem, you must replace the front brake switch inside the throttle/switch housing.
