At first wasn't getting water to the ice maker but sounded like it was trying to cycle. Per instructions, I have replaced the valve/solenoid but since replacing it, I still have no water to ice maker and don't hear it trying to cycle. Instructions said it could take 24 hours. The water dispenser works fine. What could be the problem now.

GodofHops: The motor that you hear on the refrigerator is the water pump that carries the water to your dispenser. If no water is coming from the dispenser. You have to check 3 things: 1. If there's any water. 2. Water filter clogged. 3. Water line for dispenser clogged with minerales carried on water flow. SithPitt

From what you are describing, it sounds like you need a valve. Another common thing I run into is the cooling tank inside the fridge freezing. This will usually affect water through the door only. Remove the crispers and you should see a large coil of plastic water line attached to the back wall of fridge. You can check to see if it is frozen by blowing through it from the end of the line you removed from valve. BEWARE, if you blow through it, water will come out dispenser if line is not frozen. Have a towel at front of fridge.

Sounds like the water solinoid valves are wired wrong. One activates The water dispenser. The other the ice maker. That, why every so often the water shoots out on the floor. The ice maker is telling the valve to open.
