SOURCE: My Sanyo DP46848 LCD TV display goes black when turned on.
My mother's was doing the same thing (purchased 2008). Put up with it about 6 months and took it to a repair shop. Bottom line - the display panel has a flaw in and will cost more to replace than the tv cost. See about it now it yours is still under warranty.

Solved: Over the course of time, the cheap plastic frame and stand starts to put uneven pressure on the LCD causing it to malfunction. I guessing this could be heat related. Definitely a design flaw. Remove the bottom of the stand and very slightly loosed the small screws around the back of the frame allowing the LCD to have some wiggle room. After I did this, it worked. It will still misbehave if you stress the LCD, but normally, it shouldn't. I am going to try to mount the TV using the rear VESA mounts & see if it will still work.
