On a chest freezer, frost always accumulates around the top perimeter first because the warmer moist air comes in contact with that area first once the door is opened. More frequent defrosting may be the answer.

I need to know if this Woods freezer I have is frost free. Serial # 00676013A5 Model number V12WUA

Your model number does not show up online for me. Not surprising to me at all. One way to find out is to remove the service panel in the freezer. If you find a heater and a terminator you would know for sure it is a defrost model4515c47.jpg

Lots of frost in freezer

check your seals on the door and see if any on the compartments are broken because if the door is broken to the compartment it could be that the the cold and warmth is mixing causing your freezer to frost up temp could also be to high check all

hope this help

My woods upright freezer keeps frosting up at the top with several inches of frost. It is a manual defrost freezer. Any suggestions?

check your door seal, by closing the door on a strip of newspaper all round the seal. this fault is usually air getting inside the freezer, it rises to the top making thick ice or snow.
