In the list view of sent emails. hover your mouse on the recipient to see the detail.
When you open an email in the sent messages, you can click on the little arrow drip down next to "to:" in the message to see the recipient names.
If you have never communicated with the person before (they are not in your contact list) the only thing you will see is the email address, not the name.
Make sure that you've imported those contacts into your mail application and not just leave them in the address book. There may also be a setting in system preferences about this.
Instead of typing in the recipients email address, enter that address in your contacts lists. Then when u go to enter the address, click on 'contacts' and then click the recipients address. Make sure you have the address entered correctly. Dont use capital letters if the address doesnt contain them. And no spaces either!
Click Online next to Contacts in the Yahoo! Mail folder list.
Now click on the desired contact's name or user name.
Start typing.
If you start composing an email in Yahoo! Mail and the prospective email recipient appears under Online, Chat now! in the To: field's auto-complete list, select the entry to convert your email to an instant message.
