Sounds like you could have some infections. Try downloading Malware bytes, and Combo Fix. These programs should help you to see if you need to clean up your PC. If you have windows 8.1 and can't use combo fix get C Cleaner. Just google these names and they will lead you to where you can download them. Use malware bytes before you use either of the other two.

Go to internet explorer, internet and type virgin media.com. go to the site and login

For Virgin Media email login, you must have username and password. At the top of the site homepage you will find Email tab. Just follow the steps shown in video and access account securely

Generally you can leave Windows Defender on but yes, a real antivirus is recommended. Both Mcafee (from personal experience) and Virgin Media Security (from the reviews I've read) tend to slow your computer down or be ineffective. If you want a free solution, go for Microsoft Security Essentials http://www.microsoft.com/Security_Essentials/
or AVGfree, although AVG is also a resource hog. If you don't mind paying for quality, Eset NOD32 is the best and most lightweight you'll find. http://www.eset.com/
Avira is also a good choice, but I personally recommend ESET.

Either of two approaches:

* enable the Windows Firewall, and use any anti-virus (free or subscription) and delete all "phishing" E-mail messages;

* install *ANY* of the "Total Security" packages, which includes firewall & anti-virus & anti-phishing components.

is *MILES* ahead of "none of the above".

So, pay your money for a "total security" package, if you are paranoid.

Disable mcafee firewall and parental control. This will fix your problem
