I'm not sure what a flywheel seal is but I'm going to tell you to just remove the unit. I know it seems intimidating but these things are so super easy to remove you'll be amazed. From there you can dismantle it or replace it. There really isn't a whole lot to them. You'll see : )
Look for a six-sided (hex) hole at the center of the bottom of the disposer.
If you find such a hex hole, look for a hex wrench, usually stored in a pouch on or near the disposer. If you don't find one there or have one in your toolbox, you will need to purchase one. Don't use a screwdriver or other tool because it can damage the hex hole.
To free the flywheel, insert the hex wrench in the hex hole and rotate it in a circle in both directions.
2) When disposal rusts out, or bearing seal breaks, the disposal begins to leak from bottom. It might be possible to take apart and replace bearing, if you can find that specific part and have specific tools and sealer needed to seal the bearing and repair rusted disposal. Probably easier to replace disposal.
The motor start winding has gone bad, or capacitor burned out. Generally disposals are replaced when motor goes bad. Mostly because the disposal is sealed unit and cannot be easily disassembled. If you have local motor-repair guy, who has disposal bearing parts, and can get the disposal apart, then repair might be possible... but the bearing seal would be hard to replace. Red reset button is located next to wire connection on disposal side.
If blades rotate freely and disposal has power, and reset is not tripped or will not reset, then disposal is bad.
If blades are stuck, use wood broomstick handle down into disposal.
Wedge broomstick against side of sink opening and rotate blades free.
Or use allen wrench on bottom of disposal to free cutter blade.
If it's leaking directly from the bottom, then it's the flywheel seal. For about $20 you can fix this by unplugging and disconnecting the garbage disposal from the sink, taking it apart and replacing the flywheel seal. I've had to do this only once in my entire life, so it is rare, but happens.
If the leaks comes from somewhere else and just happens to drip along the side and looks like it's coming from the bottom, then you've got problems with the installation. You may be able to fix these types of leaks by tightening the mounting bracket and/or hoses.
