The oil is used as a cooling system, therefore if you ran a machinery without expect to overheat, dismantle your welder and check which parts have melted, repare or replace them and make sure there is enough oil at all time

WONT START, NEW BATERY ON

If your Miller Trailblazer 250G 4000-watt generator welder won't start, even with a new battery, there are several things that could be causing the problem. Some possibilities include:
  • A faulty ignition switch or starter relay
  • A problem with the engine's compression
  • An issue with the engine control module (ECM)
  • A problem with the fuel system, like a clogged fuel filter or a malfunctioning fuel pump
  • A problem with the spark plug or the ignition system
  • A problem with the carburetor or the air filter
It's recommended to take your welder to a qualified Miller Electric welder repair service center, they will be able to diagnose and fix the issue. They have the right tools and knowledge to troubleshoot the problem.
It's important to check the manual of the welder for troubleshooting steps, also check the warranty of the welder and see if it's still covered by the manufacturer.
Before bringing it to the mechanic, you can try to check the fuel level and make sure it's not empty, also check the oil level, and make sure it's not too low. Check the air filter and make sure it's not clogged.

Miller blue star 6000 generates great but when welding, motor surges and seems to be welding very hot, no matter the engine speed

If your Miller Blue Star 6000 Electric Start 120V DX, 240V TWLK welding generator is generating power but the engine surges and the welding is too hot, there could be a few different things causing the problem. Here are a few things you can try to fix the issue:
  1. Check the engine speed and make sure it's set to the correct RPM for the type of welding you are doing. Lowering the RPM can help to reduce heat.
  2. Check the welding settings, and make sure they are appropriate for the type of welding you are doing. Make sure the voltage and amperage are set correctly.
  3. Check the ground connection, and make sure it's clean and tight. The ground connection must be secure for stable welding.
  4. Inspect the welding cables and make sure they are in good condition and that the connections are tight.
  5. Check the welding gun and make sure it's clean and in good condition.
  6. Make sure that the air filter is clean and not clogged, if the air filter is dirty, it will cause the engine to run hot
  7. Check the engine oil level and make sure it's not too low, a low oil level can cause the engine to overheat.
It's important to check the manual of the welder for troubleshooting steps and also check the warranty of the welder and see if it's still covered by the manufacturer. If you are not able to find the problem or if you are not familiar with welding equipment, it's best to take your welder to a qualified Miller Electric welder repair service center, they will be able to diagnose and

I have a miller bobcat 250. Was welding shut it off and pulled the truck up about 20 feet. Went to start it and nothing. It won't turn over.

This is an engine driven welder so the fault is with starting the engine. I'll guess you checked the air filter, battery, and the fuel and oil. Some engines have oil level protection so parking on uneven ground can give erroneous level sensing, possibly allowing the oil to be consumed to the point that on relocation you could not start because of low oil - or the converse where moving to an unlevel spot caused low oil sensation. Battery testing should be with load test of around 50 amps for 10 seconds with a test meter like the Schumacher BT-100. Charge the battery. Next check the fuel level, water trap, filter, and any screens at the bowl if this has a carburetor. Bobcat 250s have been around long enough to have carbs and fuel injection so I can't guess which you have. But flush out the fuel line, dump the tank, start fresh with a new filter, etc. Check the spark plug and the coil for spark. After all this take it to a mechanic if you still haven't diagnosed the problem.

Why would the welder on the miller trailblazer 250G 4000 watt generator welder quit working but the generator still works?

There could be a few different reasons why the welder on the Miller Trailblazer 250G 4000 watt generator welder would quit working but the generator still works. Here are a few things to check:
  1. Check the welding settings, make sure they are appropriate for the type of welding you are doing. Make sure the voltage and amperage are set correctly.
  2. Check the ground connection, make sure it's clean and tight. The ground connection must be secure for stable welding.
  3. Inspect the welding cables and make sure they are in good condition and that the connections are tight.
  4. Check the welding gun and make sure it's clean and in good condition.
  5. Check the main contactor and make sure it's engaging and disconnecting properly.
  6. Check the main circuit breaker and make sure it's not tripped.
  7. Check the power output of the generator and make sure it's within the correct range.
  8. Check the control circuit and make sure that it's not damaged or malfunctioning.
  9. Check the engine oil level and make sure it's not too low, low oil level can cause the engine to overheat and stop working.
  10. Check the air filter and make sure it's not clogged, if the air filter is dirty, it will cause the engine to run hot.
It's important to check the manual of the welder for troubleshoot steps and also check the warranty of the welder and see if it's still covered by the manufacturer. Will start but will stay running

there are a couple things to check -- first check and drain the carburetor bowl,, there could be water and other contaminates inside that are not allowing the carburetor to perform correctly. this start and not stay running problem could also be caused by a bad ' governor ' . ----- BUT the problem may be also caused by a bad oil level/pressure safety switch,, check to make sure the oil is at the correct level and then check the switches to make sure they operating properly.

Lincoln Welder Generator Oil Question

Better late then never! im-308 total lube oil is 4 pints for a briggs and stratton engine
.
and 3.5 for an onan engine with filter change.

Note: an internal kill switch will shut down the engine if the oil level drops below a minumum

operating level on the onan engine only.

on your welder use a multi-viscosity sae sj grade or better oil. recommended is 10w-30.

if you work in cold environments use 5w-30 oil , it's thinner and will flow easier

during cold starts. Synthetic oil is better. just more expensive. change oil at least

every 100 hours for better performance. good luck!
