Vibration in a walk behind mower is most always a imbalance in the blade , there lots of things that cause this , from loose blade , to bent blades

remove blade and test with blade balance , there not expensive ive seen them with a sharping stone for less than ten dollars before

pull spark plug before you remove blade 4 safety

SOURCE: Lawn mower will not start and run

Sounds like a clogged carb or a cracked primer bulb. I would install a carb rebuild kit and new primer bulb if your mower uses one.

SOURCE: craftsman eager-1 lawnmower will not start

Hi, The first thing I always check for is fresh fuel (less than a couple of months old) old unleaded may well be fine in your car but low compression engines fitted to garden equipment need fresh fuel. next thing to check is that the choke flap is closing fully, dont rely on the position of the control lever, remove the airfilter cover and see that the flap is fully closed, if it's cracked open just a little bit it will stop engine starting ( unless the filter is really dirty) another thing to check is that the blade is tightly secured, on direct drive mowers the blade acts as a flywheel. did you hit an obstruction the last time you used it, if you did you may have sheared the flywheel key(poor spark on points ignition or good spark but timing out of sync on electronic ignition. hope this helps, regards Tony (England UK)

Excessive vibrating

Exsessive vibration is normally attributable to the mower deck. If the vibration is occurring while the blades are engaged and cutting this would indicate a need for further investigation. Check the blades for damage or uneven ware. If the blades are new or appear in good shape check the mandrals and shafts to ensure they are not Brocken or bent. You can get mandrel assembly's for around $60.00 online and replace all you need in one go.

My 2003 FORD TAURUS IS VIBRATING WHEN I ACCELERATE MORE THAN 60 MPH. IVE REPLACED MY TIRES WITH NEW ONES AND THEY WERE ALSO BALANCED. ONCE I TAKE MY FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATION THE VIBRATION STOPS.

The trans axle in the transmission has too much play from wear. It works like a rear end in a rear wheel drive.Excessive wear there will give you that kind of vibration. It could be wore out.

My craftsman riding mower vibrates so bad when I engage the mower. How do I stop vibration?

Things you need to check, loose blades, blades out off balance, bad belt or loose belt, bearings in the blade mandrels worn.

HEAVY VIBRATION OF MOWER DECK (CRAFTSMAN17.5 HORSE TRACTOR?)

Even new blades can be out of balance, but my guess would be either the other blade spindle, or the tensioner pulley bearing.

Problem:gasoline mixes with engine oil on 6hp. Craftsman lawn mower.

Hard starting? excessive choking caused by excessive cranking, try a tuneup, beware of Gas in the
oil, it will thin the oil out and result in the engine throwing a rod or seizing

19.5hp 42" cut. Shakes when mower is engaged to cut

how hard does it shake? and does it mow?
most lawn tractor will shake a quick almost violent shake at first then it should vibrate quite a bit more while you are mowing this is just caused by the power being pulled from the motor to power not only the drive but the mowing deck. its normal.
if its worse than what i described you may have a bigger problem, if there is excessive clanking from the deck your blade may be loose/installed upside down.

Lawn mower has a loud noise like something is hitting on metal part.changed blade this year with no problems. loud excessive vibration when running.

Sounds like your deck may be bent in and the blade is hitting. Remove the sparkplug and tilt the mower back on the handle (I'm assuming this is a push mower) and have someone pull the rope while you watch the blade underneath. You should see the problem.
