Babylock stuck All was working fine, then my machine jammed. Needles are stuck down, foot pedal won't work and hand wheel won't move. There is no fabric stuck under the needle bed, however I was sewing when this happened and my fabric is stuck above the needle bed also. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

SOURCE: needle keeps hitting the pressure foot and breaking

your machine probably needs to be retimed.

You do need to take it back.

To save on driving, call and ask for an appointment so you do not have to leave the machine and make a second trip.

SOURCE: Imagine BabyLock Serger. The hand wheel only moves

I suggest having a professional look at it, if you don't have one near by. You can try to fix it yourself, but if release the gears the machine willl most likely get out of time and not sew properly.

How to release gears on each gear are 2 set screw, usually a hex head. just turn it counter clockwise and it will release.

But remember the machine will have to be timed, which is a bit to difficult to explain over text chat.

Testimonial: "Thanks for the suggestion. I took it in for service today because I don't want to ruin the machine. This is the second time the gears have locked up, "

On the side of the 'knob', look for another wheel that tightens against that, so it engages, that's what it sounds like. When that second wheel is loose, it won't run, it just spins. From the photo I can find of the unit, it looks like that second wheel is below it, but I can't be certain. Let me know how you make out. Please rate and comment, thank you,

Babylock Esante ESe2 foot controller question

The green light indicates that you have power to the sewing machine, nothing else. Thus there are two possible issues. There is a drive belt that connects the motor shaft to the sewing mechanism. This could be loose or broken. See the replacement part here: https://www.sewingpartsonline.com/motor-belt-brother-pc3000-sewing-machine.aspx . The balance wheel will turn the linkages to the needle bar without the motor. The other possibilty is that the replacement foot pedal isn't working. The universal foot pedal you need is for select Brother/Babylock machines, https://www.sewingpartsonline.com/foot-control-w-cord-brother-xc6651121.aspx . Double check that you didn't get one for a different machine manufacturing series.

It may be better for you to take the machine to a shop. Accessing the belt requires opening the machine. If you aren't careful, you could get hit with high voltage from a capacitor or you could damage the electronic components of the machine.

I hope this helps.

The handwheel will turn manually but it will not move using the foot pedal. The sound it makes when I press on the foot pedal *sounds* like I am filling the bobbin.

The foot pedal wont move the needle

Ok, I am assuming that you have an old style machine where the hand hand wheel has the larger balance wheel on the outside and inner knob to release the drive to the needle and feed dogs. If that has been removed and not put back together properly it won't work.

There is a special locking washer inside those that have "fingers" pointing to the inside of the circle. They must be fit into the shaft correctly before the knob is returned into place and the little screw is tightened down.

This guy is a bit of a windbag but watch his video... you'll at least see the part I'm talking about. He shows the part at about 9:50 in the video.

The needle does not move when the foot pedal is used.

Make sure that you pushed the bobbin winder all the way to the left.

Babylock Imagine serger was working fine, now light is only thing working, tried another foot pedal and still won't start? Any thoughts?

Can you manually turn the flywheel (towards you) - does the needle and loopers move then through the normal sequence?

If the answer is no, then its most likely something in the drive gear path, possibly a nylon gear inside it that has failed. This can be replaced but probably means a major dismantle of the internals.

You may want to take it to a baby lock dealer and see if they confirm that this is the fault.

I had this gear replaced in my Bernette 334D and it cost $250, part was only $25 of that charge.
