The screw cap on the water tank is leaking steam

You can do a couple of fixes here. One would be to take the iron with you to a hardware store (not a big box store} and find a replacement for your cap. The other would be to pick up some plumbers thread tape. Wrap that around the threads of the cap you have and reinsert it. That will take care of the gaps.

Header tank cap seperation

you have one of the faulty caps that were made you are going to need to replace it with a new one. you will need to prise out the bit stuck with a screw driver and lift it out if any parts brake off you need to take the coolant tank off and empty the broken bits/s out. caps are cheap to replace.. off ebay

After riding my bike for a while, it cuts out, and chugs. (vapor-locking?) what can I do?

You didn't say what year or model the bike is. Your problem could be in the fuel cap. A stopped up cap vent will allow your bike to run about five or so miles then sputter to a stop. Try loosening your fuel cap and ride a ways to see if it does it again. I wouldn't do this with a full tank of fuel or you may have fuel in your lap. Also, if your bike is equipped with a vacuum operated petcock, the diaphragm may be bad. You'll have to take the fuel line and the small vacuum line off the back of the petcock. Drain the tanks but loosening the large nut and allowing the fuel to run out. Catch it with a large funnel and an empty gas can. Remove the petcock from the tank. Remove the four small screws on the backside of the petcock that holds the square plate on. Carefully remove the plate and notice how the parts come out. There's a spring, a needle, and a diaphragm in there. Hold the diaphragm up to the light and gently stretch it while looking for a hole. If you find one replace the diaphragm.

Water will not drain out completly

Remove all the filters and looking down into the sump, at approx 10 o'clock you should see a plastic cover with a tx20 screw. Remove the screw and cover, this will expose the pump impellor, check it is free and remove any obstruction (caution advised as ther may be a shard of glass etc). With the cap off set a cycle, close the door and immediately reset the unit. (check how to do this from your user manual, usually holding the start button for 5secs, but models vary). You should hear the pump run and any debris will be expelled into the tank. Check the impellor again, replace the cap and screw. Do a visible check of the tank to see if any obstruction were 'spat out' by the pump. Check your outlet pipe, particularly if it is attached under the sink via a spigot for blockages. Run a prewash or quick cycle to test. I really hope this solves the problem, if you need to repost or comment for additional advise please do not hesitate. All the best and good luck.

Need to replace the fuel tank on a 1994 4Runner, but need to know what other parts to get with it. Obviously the in-tank fuel pump, the fuel strainer, seals, but....is there a sending unit as well?

Hello, welcome to FixYa.

You would do well to purchase the cap/bracket assembly that holds the fuel outlet/return piping, it also holds the fuel pump and the fuel sending unit inside the tank. The chances of you re-using the original one are slim, as rust will have developed on the fuel pipes, and, if you bump them when removing the tank, they will crack. Also, get the bolts that holds the cap/bracket on, too. They do not cost that much. I'd replace the fuel sending unit and the strainer while you are changing the tank, also.

How do I replace a fuel pump on a 1995 ford aerostar

drain all the fuel you can from the tank, SAFELY using proper saftey equipment, place the vehicle on jack stands, disconnect the battery, place a jack under the tank, remove fuel cap, remove 3 screws holding filler neck to the inside of fuel filler door compartment, remove tank straps, remove driveshaft, lower tank slightly & remove fuel neck, wires, fuel couplings, lower tank & remove from vehicle. Carefully remove locking ring from the tank where it holds down the fuel pump asy, remove pump asy & replace components as needed, reassemble, check for leaks, road test vehcile
