Unlike other laptops, Acer notebook/laptops integrate a computer management utility called 'Acer eRecovery Management' to create backup of hard drive data, create restore point, reinstall applications & drivers, and reset Acer Aspire Aspire to factory setting.

Step 1: Before starting your Acer Aspire One laptop, ensure that there is no external storage device attached to it. Now start your laptop.

Step 2: Press 'Alt + F10' when the laptop starts booting, and wait for a moment while Windows loads the reset files.

Step 3: When 'Acer eRecovery Management' window appears, select 'Restore System from factory default' and click 'Next' to continue.

Step 4: Again click 'Next' to reset your Acer laptop. This process will erase all data from your hard disk and reset your Acer one to original factory settings.

Step 5: Click 'OK' in the notification window to begin the the resetting operation. Now wait while your Acer Aspire Aspire is reset to factory settings.

Tips: You can also create a backup copy of your notebook data before factory reset. Simply click 'Backup' in 'Acer eRecovery Management' window.

I want to restore factory settings on my aspire 5733

Use your recovery disks or if it can still boot into windows, there is an Acer recovery software installed you can use to bring it back to factory. If you can't boot windows try CTRL+F10 or F11 maybe ALT+F10/F11, it varies.

Need to take an acer aspire one 532h-2223 to factory settings

Use the installation disk to reinstall the sofware. If a hidden partition is still present on the hard drive, you may be able to reinstall the OS from it. One of the function keys pressed just after booting will allow to reinstall the OS from the hidden partition. Read your computer's manual to find out which key initiates the restoration of the system.

Reinstalling windows os

Restoring your Acer back to factory setup will not bring back any viruses.
BUT you need the Acer recovery CD for your model laptop.
Acer Recovery CD is available from their WEB site.

How to restore 5100 acer lap top to factory settings. Hard drive is wiped out.

what do you mean that the hard drive has been wiped out? did you reinstall a new operating system on the PC? if that so & you still want to bring back all the software & settings that came originally with this PC then you can try this.

How to Restore Acer Aspire 5100 to Factory Setting
Instructions
1
Open the "Start" menu, then click "All Programs" and place your mouse cursor over the folder labeled "Acer Empowering Technology." Select the "Acer Empowering Technology" icon from the folder.
2
Click the "Acer eRecovery Management" icon that is now on your desktop.
3
Click "Restore" at the bottom of the "Acer eRecovery Management" window.
4
Select "Restore system to factory default" from the "Restore" menu. The computer will restart and automatically begin the restoration process.

Internet connection problem

If you reinstall windows using System Recovery Disk then you do not need to worry about anything, it will
bring your computer back to the factory settings. However, if you use Windows DVD to reinstall the system then you need to install all the drivers manually.
If your drivers are missing then download it form your manufacturers website.

If you are using win XP

I reinstall VISTA on my laptop(ACER 6920) because the language is chinese (clean install) and I also downloaded all the drivers and applications from ftp://ftp.work.acer-euro.com/notebook/aspire...

Acer erecovery looks for the hidden partition as it is used for restoring the system back to factory defaults. If the hidden partition is not available, the software will not install.

Nothing to be worried about. You will not even need that software.

Multimedia keys not working on acer aspire 5610z do i need a driver, where can i download it?

If you mean by multimedia keys the buttons that allow you to bring up media player and skip tracks and stuff then I think I had this problem too.
I wiped my 5610z but only installed only the windows software. This stopped the keys from working. However when I then used the factory restore disk instead, this re-installed windows and also made the keys work again.

So your best bet is to create a factoryrestore disk. You can download the software to do so online :) its called Acer eRecovery
