Any help for HP Pavilion m6-1042so Cyberlink YouCam v3.5 that doesn't work?

I have installed / uninstalled the Cyberlink YouCam v.3.5 but my HP Pavilion m6-1042so (Win 7 - 64bit) can't get the camera to work. I have also reinstalled my pc back to the original state. Any help? Can I use another webcam software - if so wich one?

I have just bought the same Laptop, when windows Vista is started the webcam doesn't work. By pressing the keys FN + F9 the webcam will be activated (you have to do this every time you start your laptop)

You will find U cam under SP38761 on the hp website - download it and save it to a folder in your my doc's. Then you've got it OK

first is go to control panel and then select the icon ADD or REMOVE HARDWARE, wait until all the programs are come out then find your cybelink youcam to remove and uninstall it. Good Luck!

You can download the WEBcam and device drivers from the Compaq/HP WEBsupport/download page. Make sure you select your model laptop and the Windowsdrivers you require and install them. Click on this link to download thedrivers: -

The webcam of my laptop hp pavilion dv1000 is not working since i formatted it a year ago,even i lost my recovery dvds.....can anyone help me out?????

solution is... 1) try relative driver from hp,s website
2) call hp and say that your recovery is not working(they will ship recovery disk). this is only useful when your laptop is under warranty.
3) go to http://www.cyberlink.com/products/youcam/overview_en_US.html and download cyberlink youcam 4 and msg me. i will give you a serial key.
(option 3 is gonna work 10000% so try it) no other drivers required..

How do i turn my web cam on?

dsavageprosp- Do you have any controlling software installed? I know on integrated HP WebCams they usually use Cyberlink YouCam for web-cam software (which SHOULD be pre-installed with an integrated camera), under Start>Programs>CyberLink YouCam>CyberLink YouCam. If it's not installed, you can download it at the link below, install and it should recognize your cam and you should be good to go: http://www.cyberlink.com/downloads/trials/youcam/download_en_US.html Hopefully I understood your question and answered sufficiently. Hi,

There is no expiry date fro youcam software, as this is a free software provided by the manufacturer for additional use of Webcam's.

To uninstall YouCam, Download windows clean up utility:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301

Install this utility to uninstall YouCam completely.

Now if you have the backup of Youcam, install it back. Else, try to download from the manufacturer. (Ex: HP, DELL etc)

Cyberlink provides a trial version:
