Sometimes when I am watching a recorded tv program I stop it. The problem arises when I go back to watch it later. I select "play from previous playtime" it puts me back to the beginning and freezes, I can't fast forward I can't stop I can't even turn the system off I have to disconnect at the power. It happens fairly regularly. The only way I can watch it then is to select "play from the start" and fast forward to before the place I was before. Sometimes that works other times it just ends.

I had the same problem. It was fixed under warranty. It was some sort of alignment problem. It would not play SOME commercially produced DVD's either.

SOURCE: My LG LRH-880 HDD/DVD recorder

Somehow, my HDD/DVD recorder recorded correctly 2 times last night, even if I did not do anything specific to fix. I will keep an eye on new occurences of this problem, but it appears at the moment that the issue disappeared by itself.

SOURCE: After recording a one hour episode, won't recognize the dvd.

Try inserting your DVD media into the PC and doing a 'quick format'. The LG is not seeing what it considers to be media that it can use. It is not seeing that you have inserted recordable media. Sometimes you can reformat the DVD or do a quick media erase, and the LG can then put on its blank "squares" that is uses for its menu selection. I think that it what it does when it 'initializes' a new media.

SOURCE: LG TV 42LB1DR INITIALIZATION PROBLEM

mine did the same thing once, I unplugged it long enough to make sure it shuts down all the way and let it reset itself. Turned it back on and it was and is fine [it's been 2 mos. now] That worked this time.
Last time one of my kids spilled something down the back and it gradually went out. 600.00 to have the part replaced.

VCR won't record, just ejects tape

You have not mentioned the make and model number of the vcr. Any way the problem is due to end sensor or related circuit. End sensors are photo diods which you can check the shorting with a multy meter.

I have a JVC LT 32 EX 18 TV. When connecting my laptop over HDMI, playing on a playstation or WII the sound and picture work perfectly. When I want to watch normal TV over cable though the problems start...

If the rear inputs work consider connection for the channels with a box using one of the rear inputs--sounds like a tuner related issue and going to the rear inputs bypasses that.

How do you watch what you have recorded

Hi, I am sorry that you are having a problem viewing your previously recorded events. The answer will vary depending on the recording device you are using. If you have a DVR receiver in your home, there should be a DVR button. When you select this, a "My Recordings" tab should appear and if you select on that it will display a list of all your recorded programs. You will be able to scroll down the list and find the one you wish to watch and then select on it. There will now be a [play option available. If you are still having a problem, please email me directly and I will assist you further. Thank you!

How do i watch what i have recorded on my camcorder. I have lost my booklet?

You have not mentioned make/model of your camcorder. However you can replay by shifting the mode selection to play wherein you can watch the recorded frames. In the case of camcorders it is a single button selection to be moved for play and record. In the case of cameras you have to select easy key replay to see the previous files or select from menu.

Hi
Does your dishnet box have two tuners or one, if only one then only the program being watch on the tv can be recordered , this will have to be connected to the av input on the recorder and one of the av (line input) selected with the remote control for the recorder, If the dishnet box as two tuners then the output from one tuner can be used to feed the tv and the other one will go to the recorder connected through the av input. hope this will help regards windyhouse

Vcr to tv connection

There are probably a couple of different ways to hook things up. One is you hook the VCR "in between" the indoor antenna & the set. Hook antenna to VCR RF/Ant In, then VCR RF/Ant out to the Antenna input on TV. Your VCR will then be able to record one channel, while you watch another on TV. To play back the VCR, or do any VCR setup, TV channel must be set to either channel 3 or 4. The other way is to use the Video & audio input/outputs on the VCR & TV. You will need the appropriate cable(s). Match the VCR video/audio outs with the set of inputs on TV. Video and audio out on the TV go back to the video/audio inputs on VCR. In order to view VCR playback, menu setup, you will need to select that input (line, aux, video 1 etc.) on the TV. This hookup probably won't allow the recording of a second channel while watching one. As regards the hft channels, I assume you live in an area where such is being broadcast. The TV can probably be put into a programming mode where it will scan for all available channels, and put them into memory, or they can be programmed manually.
