This is your browser warning you that if you continue you may not be on the site you think you are. This warning comes when your browser checks a certificate from the site to validate its identity. If he certificate is invalid or has anything wrong with it you get the warning. If you are storing an old certificate and the site has changed to a new valid certificate you will get this warning. for Internet Explorer, open your browser 'Internet Options' select the 'Content' tab, select 'Clear SSL state' button. Close the browser, open again and attempt to view the page. This will pull the current certificate from the site and validate it. If you continue to receive the warning, I would recommend not visit the site as you cannot validate it not being a spoofed site.
Some of these solutions are close, but not entirely accurate. You get this error because the cert is just unsigned, its a basic security feature. From here there are two options, add them to trusted sites or change your security level.
You can press the sites button and manually enter them, or change the slider to the lowest setting. Keep in mind changing the security level is riskier, but requires less manual intervention.
Hi there! When I see this error more than likely if it is every single web page you are trying to view, your date/time is set incorrectly.
Could be virus related but first check your DATE & TIME, if these are off it can cause certificates to fail. If you date and time is proper please download Malwarebytes Free and give your computer a full scan. If malware is detected and issues persists after removal, concider taking it to a local repair shop for a more through virus removal.
There are many reasons why these bookmarks wont opened as there could be some of them not copyright or not safe for you to open as it can lead you of giving you a virus or hackers. I suggest you keep your PC up to date and well secured, Windows XP is no longer in use for many users unless you have Google Chrome.
Hope this will help you in solving your problem.
Upgrade to Windows 7.
Older OS and thus Older Browsers are no more supported by many sites
While XP is no longer supported by Microsoft, I do agree an upgrade is in order. Internet Explorer 8 is tied to XP by Microsoft. They could continue using XP with an alternative browser such as Firefox or Chrome. Just know that using your XP machine without a router could leave you open to a hacker they you may never detect...until your bank account was emptied if the hacker observed you access your account online.
