SOURCE: Download Files

Hi, I had this problem using a Olympus DS-2300 recorder. I installed the DSS Player Software on my PC and when I tried to download the files from my device to the PC I had this problem.

You will need to check the location of a file called DSSjobNo.dat. The application I think tries to copy this file into the default location for the Download folder, usually somewhere in your My Documents. If it can't copy the file there for some reason then that will stuff things up.

To check where the application is expecting the file you will need to check a value in the registry. This maybe a little tricky so get someone who knows there way around the registry to help you. The location of the entry is HKCU\Software\Olympus\DSSPlayer2002\Dictation Module\download\InstallSetting The value is JobNoFilePath and will hold the path to where the application is expecting the dssjobno.dat file.

Armed with this knowledge you can then check if the dssjobNo.dat file is in that location. If not copy the file from C:\program Files\olympus\DssPlayer (this is where I found the file on my PC) to the location the registry entry specified.

Or if you know what you are doing you can change the reg entry to go to the location you want the file to be in. Useful in my case as I wanted the download path for my files to be on a shared folder on the network and I wanted to keep it all together.

Hope this helps!

How to fix error 651 on windows 7

Error 651 is a well-known bug in Windows 7 which happen when you try to connect to the Internet using PPPoE connection. If you're one of the victims who met this bug, you should see the following error message: Error 651: The Modem (or other connecting device) has reported an error. These connections, however, would work just fine in Windows XP or Windows Vista PCs. Below are a few solutions that can perhaps fix the problem:

Windows 7 Fix: Error 651 Modem PPPoE Broadband Internet Connection

Fix 1: - Error 651 Modem PPPoE Broadband Internet Connection

Click here to download Registry Easy to automatically fix your PC errors and speed up your system.

Fix 2: - Error 651 Modem PPPoE Broadband Internet Connection

The root of the problem is believed to be caused by the RAS PPPoE file raspppoe.sys found in the folder C:\Windows\System32\Drivers. To fix this problem, we will have to replace the file raspppoe.sys with a new one. Try to copy the file from your friend's computer which has Windows 7 installed. Alternatively, you can download the raspppoe.sys file from this site (thanks to the author). After you get the file, before pasting it into C:\Windows\System32\Drivers, be sure that you rename the original file to something like raspppoe_ori.sys, so that if something weird happen you have a backup of your original file. Paste the new raspppoe.sys into the directory after you've renamed the original file. Try to connect your modem and it should work fine now.

I'm getting an error message of 0xb900009f

Lots of issues can be responsible for your error message:-

Access deniedThis error occurs if the user has insufficient privileges to a file, or if it has been locked by some program or user.The device is not readyThis error most often occurs when there is no floppy disk (or a bad disk) in the disk drive and the system tries to perform tasks involving this disk.File not foundThe file concerned may have been damaged, moved, deleted, or a bug may have caused the error. Alternatively, the file simply might not exist, or the user has mistyped its name.Low Disk SpaceThis error occurs when the hard drive is (nearly) full. To fix this, the user should close some programs (to free swap file usage) and delete some files (normally temporary files, or other files after they have been backed up), or get a bigger hard drive.Out of memoryThis error occurs when the system has run out of memory or tries to load a file too large to store in RAM. The fix is to close some programs, or install more memory.[program name] has encountered a problem and needs to close.

Hello, the problem that I have with my SanDisk 2 GB MP3 player is that now, whenever I try to put songs on it, I get a message that "the device has stopped responding" or "the device does...

Try and reset the player first, If this does not fix the problem, Click this link to down load the Sandisk updater program to run a firmware update...Updater... Resetting the device: 1. Press and hold the Power/Menu button for approximately 20 seconds. 2. Release the Power/Menu button. 3. Press the Power/Menu button again to turn on the player.
Next time you need to delete files heres how. --
There are two ways to delete files on your Sansa player. You can delete them from the player directly or using a PC.
METHOD 1 - Delete files directly on the device 1. In playback mode, press the Submenu button. 2. Select Delete.
METHOD 2 - Delete files using a PC For all other Sansa players: 1. Connect your device to the PC. 2. Select Open device to view files using Windows Explorer on initial connection. 3. Locate the folder where your files are stored. 4. Click to select the files you want deleted and delete the files.
NOTE: If songs still exist after deleting, you may need to switch USB modes from MTP to MSC or vice versa. See this tip HERE
Capacity issue This error occurs when a Sansa player is almost filled to capacity. A Sansa player can NOT be filled to full capacity. (i.e. you can't put 2GB worth of songs into a 2GB player)
The player needs the extra capacity to create and maintain a "database", a database holds all the information such as playlists, recordings, song information, etc. The larger the amount of songs, the larger the database gets.
To resolve this capacity issue, you have to delete contents on your Sansa player using a PC.
STEP 1 - Delete files on your player 1. See first note on how to delete files on your Sansa player using a PC.
FAT corruption This error also occurs when there's a file system corruption in your Sansa player.
To resolve this issue, run error-checking to fix errors in your device using a PC
STEP 1 - Connect the Sansa player to the PC in MSC mode
STEP 2 - Run Error-checking to check and fix errors 1. Double-click on My Computer (Computer for Windows Vista). 2. Right-click on the drive letter associated with your Sansa player and select Properties. 3. Click the Tools tab and select Check Now. 4. Click both check boxes under Check disk options. 5. Click Start
If an error occurs while plugging in the player to the PC and some files are missing in the player, the database might be corrupted. To resolve this, you will need to format your player.
NOTE: Formatting will delete all files in the device. Your data (music, photos etc) is NOT recoverable.

What does Windows Vista error 0x00000005 mean?

Applications that are reading file allocation table (FAT) based storage devices at the time of a resume may receive the following error message from the file system: ERROR_ACCESS_DENIED (0x00000005) This occurs although the file has appropriate sharing and access permission.

Examples of storage media that frequently use the FAT file system on Pocket PC 2002 are the PCMCIA PC Card ATA, the Compact Flash (CF) Storage Card, and the Secure Digital (SD) Memory Card.

This behavior is observed when using Pocket PC 2002 Adaptation Kit Update 4 (AKU4) and later.

RESOLUTION:

Applications can handle this situation by detecting the specific error code while reading a storage card file, and then retrying for a short period until the device is ready. The following is an example C code fragment that demonstrates this concept: while ( !WriteFile( hFile, achBuffer, dwBytesRequested, &dwBytesReturned, 0 ) &&
( ERROR_ACCESS_DENIED == GetLastError() ) )
{
// Access Denied: Maybe the file system is not ready yet.
tries++;
if ( tries > 4 )
break;
Sleep(500);
}
// It has been a few seconds. The file cannot be accessed.

You can use the same approach for other programming languages. For applications that access the storage card through middleware libraries that do not provide direct access to the file system, you may have to implement transactional or block verification methods to get reliable data transfer across a suspend resume.

File copy error.

maybe your drive is already full, if your drive is already full try to delete the temp file or delete your unnecessary files, if not try to check the file that you are trying to copy, maybe there some associate file which have a long file name, try to rename it but copy first the original file name to notepad, and after copying rename again your file that you renamed before, if still not tell us what kind of file you want to copy.
