1992 yamaha waverunner 111 wra650q Runs great until you shut it off or it shuts off? Ok as long as you restart in a few seconds it will fire instantly , if you wait 5 minutes or longer it will turn over good but not start. Last time on water troed to restart ebery 10 minutes or so for an hour! No luck! Towed in 3 miles tried would not start , next morning tried and it started within 3 seconds (normally starts this quick)!

Not real familiar with waverunners (this is a car and truck section after all), but remember that when you have been riding and stop engine it gets much hotter. Could possibly be coil "Heat Soak", or even a fuel system vapor lock issue caused by a pinhole leak in a line or a bad gas cap. Not very confident in this, but the best I got. Try posting in the waverunner section.

SOURCE: Intermittent Starting Problem

You have to determine if the problem is loss of fuel press or a los of ignition spark when the no start occurs, I suspect the fuel pump.

Check fuel pressure after it's been sitting for a while. It should be within 5-psi of spec. If not, you have a bad check valve in the fuel pump.

Its probably the CDI box, they are notorious about different temperatures affecting them when they get old.

A bad fuel pump may cause a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 5.9l to run for a few minutes and just shut off without sputtering. It can also be that the fuel pressure regulator (on top of fuel pump assembly) is stopped up. If no evidence of anything wrong with the codes your being told to check. It might be your ECM is bad, I had a friend had similar problems and they put a new ECM in it and it ran great again.

When you change PCM are you disconnecting battery? (Hope so) If so, are you connecting negative cable last. If you are not disconnecting battery or not attaching neg cable last, you're hammering PCM with voltage spike and shortening life immensely
