Ink not sticking to paper on textweight, possible fuser problem?

My docucolor12 will print all day long on heavyweight stock from bypass, but when I try to print on textweight paper, images start coming out on paper not fully (cooked) it starts to peel off after 40-50 impressions. Any ideas?

I am having the same problem.
All settings are right (normal weight set on both computer and machine).

The oil filter/tank and hose and rollers were all replaced in an attempt to fix it.
    But alas

Please select the paper type as heavy weight, also when the prints come out of the page, please take out the fuser wave & roll the wave (dust side down), after that print give the same prints in grayscale, most probably after 2 to 3 prints the dust will wipe of, i had suggested to print in grayscale rather color prints will be wasted.

Xerox Workcentre 4150. Paper keeps jamming in print engine area. We clear the jam and it jams again.

If your Xerox WC 4150 is displaying "Clear the Jam in the Print Engine" or constantly jams as paper exits the machine you should check and possibly replace the fuser actuator (part# 120N00534) This is the most likely cause, if however this does not fix the printer the next step may be to replace the sensor or fuser.
Here is a video that shows you how to check and replace the actuator. ItemInc.com has this part in stock and ships same day. Good luck, and thanks for using FixYa!

We had a paper jam in the print engine area. Once the paper path has been cleared we are still receiving clear misfed paper in print engine. I have fed paper through the path and cannot find any paper jam.

Making a cracking noise from the fuser unit area

I'm assuming that the cracking noise occurs as the printed page is passing through the fuser?

Check your print settings to ensure that your paper stock is not set to heavy (card). This setting applies extra heat to the fuser to 'fuse' the text to the paper, which is what you want for card, but if you are printing normal stock, it will overheat the toner causing it to stick to the fuser roller on the way through and make a 'cracking' sound as the paper peels off the roller.

Whilst it is possible that there is a fault with the thermostat and the fuser heater is not switching off, this is rare. If you have been printing a number of pages at an incorrect paper stock setting you may need to clean baked text of the upper fuser roller, in which case, apply the following procedure.

After switching off the pirnter and it has had time to cool you may be able to clean the upper fuser roller with a rag moistened with a little methylated spirit, although you will not be able to rotate the roller fully without removing the fuser assembly from the printer. If the roller is physically damaged however, eg. scoured, cleaning will not resolve the problem, the roller will need to be replaced. This usually occurs after a long life, so it is generally best to install a new or reconditioned fuser (includes new rollers, top and bottom and new heat lamp).

Ink smudging off paper

It means that the fuser is not hot enough to bond the toner to the paper. You should open the rear door and see if a paper has wrapped around the fuser roller, as when the temp is actually too cool it will shut down the printer. Photo paper is also too thick to be used in this printer and you should only be using standard bond paper.

Printing heavy weight invitation stock on Epson R200

The card is probably too thick. Try cleaning the feed roller in the Sheet feeder to improve its grip. Check the GSM of the paper is within the spec of the printer.

Repeated paper jam in fuser

Fuser's orange roller is not meant to be wrinkled, if this is then I would recommend you replace it (just slides out) pic below
b4eead5.jpg If printing on card, you need to feed via manual bypass and exit from the back, not on the top, aka the "face up tray." Tray pulls out from rear. Rear tray will only stack a few card sheets at once.

Setting on printer's control panel must be set to card/heavy paper type on manual bypass tray

Their may still be some card in fuser causing jams.
