Saw does not fire. pulled starter cord 50 times without a spark. what is solution?
SOURCE: Pull-cord will not retract.
If you put a longer cord on it , then it will not retract as far and get stuck.
SOURCE: having hard time with new poulon 18" chainsaw starting.
Since you have good spark and good gas the only things left to check are the air filter and the carbeurator. If the air filter is dirty, replace it. While you are at the auto parts store also pick up a can of a gasoline additive called seafoam which will keep your carb. clean. Finally get a can of spray carb. cleaner and put a couple short squirts directly into the air intake which is right there when you remove the air filter.

inside the rope pull housing is a flat spring,it may have come loose from its anchor, its an easy fix...unscrew the 3 screws on housing, lift off housing, and the rope pull is inside the casing, you will then see if its broken, or just come off anchor, 10 minute job if its just loose......
SOURCE: Stihl ms 250 chain saw won't start, doesn't seem to catch spark.
dry the plug asmall squirt of aerostart in the top of carbywith air cleaner off full throttle pull the rope and she should fire up make sure the on/off switch is in the correct position. no don`t laugh ican remember nearly completely stripping amotor years ago before ichecked it put it all back together and it started first go try the aerostart and switch
SOURCE: Can't pull the starter cord,
Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly
Remove the muffler and clean out the exhaust port and screen. You will have to disassemble the muffler and clean off or replace the screen item 8 of this link:
http://www.partstree.com/parts/?lc=echo&mn=CS-330T++S%2FN%3A+C08611001001+-+C08611999999&dn=7946
Before taking the muffler apart... unhook the spark plug and just pull it though with the muffler removed. If it pulls normally you know you have found the problem.
If it still pulls hard...check the exhaust port of the cylinder head for 2 tiny holes (not screw holes) Some have them some don't depending upon the year of the saw. If you do find 2 small holes that appear clogged with carbon... do your best to clean them out.
Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly
