GVA tv/ dvd combo not scanning channels

Go through the setup program again to scan channels, check the connection on the set for damage and looseness

Hi sounds like the remote may be in the wrong mode , you can scan channels into the sky box or the TV/combo.
Make sure you are scanning them into the box not the combo.

Just bought one of these cheap.
Very basic just plug in and it sets itself up to some degree.
- make sure tv is on appropriate AV channel as you'll need the on screen menu to set it up initially using the remote control.
- then set the unit to scan for the tv channels, took about 10 minutes for me.
- NOTE ... there is no power on/off switch. Plug the cord into the 240v outlet and unit comes straight on. You can't turn it off except by switching offf at power point. Or using the standby button on the remote.
- NOTE ... there is also no display on the unit. So yoy have no channel display on the unit. It is all done on the tv screen.

But it does have quite a good EPG and menu guide.
For the price, can't complain.

I have provided instructions on how to program the remote to your TV. I have also provided codes for your TV brand.

Remotes: Basic (Television Only)

1. Turn the Television On
2. Press and Hold the TV Power button for three seconds until the LED flashes
3. Enter the three-digit code using the buttons on the number pad.
4. Press OK. Note: The LED will flash three times.
5. Test functionality with the TV
6. Return to Step 2 if the remote is not able to turn the TV On/Off, change the volume and mute the television.

The codes are as follow: 720, 220, 748, 721 (694 only has a 2% success rate). I hope this helps.

If you have got a good aerial, the high gain type- see image, it should run all the TV's you say. Make certain you have decent cable coming off the aerial (the stuff they use for satalite dishes). Then buy some high quality splitters, to feed the TV's. Don't split the cable outdoors!

Make sure everything's connected in the correct sockets. Turn the SNES on, change to one of the Analogue channels (one of the channels which you control with the TV remote) and start scanning for a signal. The RF cable has to be connected to the analogue port (where a TV aerial would plug in to get analogue channels) and the SNES needs to be switched on.

The alternative is to get a SCART-compatible cable that works with a Gamecube or an N64 and use it with the SNES, as Nintendo had the foresight to add an EXT port which'll let you play the SNES on an AV channel.

Go to the Menu setting, and do a auto channel scan, it will automatically program it to NOT skip 3.

i messed around with the remote, searched for my 5 channels and found them on uhf, stored and now i can look at my tv, thanks, gra.
