Some motors do not have carbon Brushes as its a induction motor as a opposed to a reaction motor which does have, not sure about your model but you could check this first, if it does have a brush kit fitted they should be easy to identify and remove if on the other hand no brushes then you would need to fit a new motor. On the bosch the brushes can be hidden look at the back of the motor ,you will see two wires one for each brush connected. Good luck.

SOURCE: I can't locate brushes on Bosch Logixx 1600 wasshing machine

hi

usally the brushes are at the back of the motor but depending on motor they could be inside . to get to these you need to remove the 4 screws wich hold motor together. but 1st thing to check is to look at armitor on motor and see if you can see a line going round in the middle. if there is the motor will probley need to be replaced as the motor will have burnt out. but motors are very expensive o these machines. hope this helps

SOURCE: I have removed the motor from the washing machine

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France @ 15:55 Sun afternoon.

Ouch!
Our Bosch behaved intermittently then would not run at all JUST before xmas and visitors!. I removed the motor and could see that the brushes were worn. I actually could not see how they could easily be removed- really solid bit of kit.
Went on a web site (cannot remember which one) and the advice was that if you (are able to) change the brushes they will not last for very long- a few months was the experience. As you probably are aware they do not necessarily bed in very well, that is unless you go to the extent of sorting the commutator out first.
Our Bosch is 15-20 years old- good machine and our new motor should last another 15-20 (which is more than we probably will!). Admittedly it did cost £250 but VERY easy to change-took minutes- and I changed the belt at the same time.
So- it might be false economy ;-0(

Good luck,

John C

1) Test the lid switch must be closed very well, this will NOT start the machine.
2) the start button test for open
3) tight any wires connector
4) see the outlet box from your house is o.k reset the breaker.
5) put some desklamp for to see if working, so go and test the power cord .
6) tight the fuse or c.breaker from control board.
6a) put correct tension in the belt, see for any obstruction mechanical with the clutch and brake see the diagram
7) try it

Washing machine motors are usually induction motors and do not have brushes? Anyway, the back comes off and that normally gives access to the screws that hold the top on, but the motor is normally located at the bottom of the machine.

Washing machine not washing or spinning

More than likely worn brushes in motor
Remove top cover, and slacken motor bolts holding motor at top right of washer. slide out carbon brush holders in motor, and replace if less than 3 or 4mm long.
This should solve the problem.

After 13 years perfect service (so, no complaints) our Hotpoint WM25W 1000R front loader has stopped spinning. Power there, water loading ok. It was trying a heavy wash, admittedly, but no joy when that...

More than likely worn brushes in the motor.
Remove top cover, and disconnect the motor.
The brushes are located at the opposite end to the motor pulley.
Replace if they are less than 3 or 4mm long.

I am trying to locate the brushes in my whirlpool awm 5125 washer i have taken the top off but cant locate them

the brushes are on the motor which is located at the rear of the machine sitting just under the wash unit.

You will need a 10mm spanner to remove the bolts holding the motor on. unclip the wiring to the motor and remove.

the carbon brushes are located on the rear of the motor - one on each side of the commutator,

you will need a philips screw driver to remove the brushes

Creda eco washing machine won't spin

It sounds like it needs new carbons fitting in the motor.
It is a fairly straightforward repair.
Remove the top cover, screws at rear, and slide top cover off towards the rear.
The motor is located at the top right right rear, you will see the drive belt.
Slacken the bolt that holds the motor, and push the motor down towards the top of the drum.
You will see the 2 brush holders, they will be either black or white, pull the wires off the holder terminals, and depress the plastic`lug that holds the brushes in place, slide the brushes out of the motor.
fit new genuine Hotpoint carbons, and follow instructions on packaging. Push the leads back on to the carbon terminals.
Tighten up motor, and make sure the belt is reasonably tight.
Job done.
Test on final spin before you refit top cover.
Plz rate my solution.
Thanks.

Where are the brushes?

easiest way is to remove the motor - just held in by simple bolts. disconnect the electrical plug and socket wiring to the motor of course.
