Perhaps a bit of isopropyl alcohol and a q tip swab can solve the problem. using 91% isopropyl alcohol, dab a swab in the alcolhol and swab the alcohol onto the switch. the idea is to get a little alcohol into the switch but not too much. don't want to drench the electronics, just work a little alcohol down into the switch to try to clean it. try working the switch alternating with a little more alcohol. don't put too much alcohol. allow time for excess to dry if you think you got too much into the unit.

My technics sx-px222 digital piano suddenly has no sound but all lights work and i hear a very very slight hum. Fuses look ok. What do you recommend i try next?

Hi,

please check that the volume-down button isn't stuck and therefore forcing the volume of your piano to decrease. You might wiggle the button from side to side if you noticed that it's stuck. If possible, attempt to route the piano sound to an external speaker and see if you receive the same results as you initially did.

Thank you.

My volume buttons on my compaq presario c769us are not working , is there a combination for the volume buttons

From the manual:

Hotkeys are combinations of the fn key (lower left of keyboard) and one of the function keys:

Increase speaker sound. fn+pg up
Decrease speaker sound. fn+pg dn
To use a hotkey command on the computer keyboard, follow either of these steps:
Briefly press the fn key, and then briefly press the second key of the hotkey command.
- or -
Press and hold down the fn key, briefly press the second key of the hotkey command, and then
release both keys at the same time.
Muting speaker sound (fn+home)
Press fn+home to mute speaker sound. Press the hotkey again to restore speaker sound.
Increasing speaker sound (fn+pg up)
Press fn+pg up to increase speaker sound. Hold down the hotkey to increase speaker sound incrementally.

Dont know how to control the volume, i cannot find my manual

Most of the time their are multiple ways to do this.

1. On the speaker in the lower right hand corner left click and a volume bar appears. Slide it up and down. It should be adjust to 75% IMO.

2. On your keys there should be symbols that look like speakers that should match the color of you "fn" key. Press and hold the fn key and then press the corresponding speaker key to increase or decrease the volume.

3. There may be a rotary volume control on the front of the laptop case. It's as simple as turning it to increase or decrease it.

On the volume bar in windows verify that the muted in unchecked.

Re: Hannspree HF255 1) How does one increase the volume as pressing the button seems only to decrease it. 2) How does one improve the quality of sound of the internal speakers?

If you have one button that decreases the volume, then there is a second button that increases it. Either that or the menu button is used to assign an up or down function to the volume.
You can't improve the quality of the internal speakers. But a good set of external ones!

How do I increase the volume on my Nokia 1661?

There are 2 types of volume in your nokia phone that you can increase or decrease.

The first one is the ring tone volume. You can either increase or decrease your ring tone volume by pressing the menu key then go to settings, go to profile, select any desired profile go to personalise go to ringing volume, then increase or decrease by using the navigation button to the right or left.

The second way is to increase or decrease the volume of the speaker of your phone which i think is the cause of your question (this volume enables you to hear clear and loud the person on the other phone). You increase or decrease the volume by making a call, as soon as the call starts ringing, press the navigation key to right to increase the volume or to the left to decrease the volume.

How to increase ringing volume and hearing volume

When you are receiving a call use the up/down or left/right rocker (the squarish thingy around the circular button in the middle) to increase/decrease the volume. This also works for the speaker volume if you have the speaker on.

Sansui tv/vcr combo is stuck on highest volume.

If you have the remote, have you tried it ?
Have you tried the volume button on the front of the set ?
If neither the remote or the button will work, then you may have a problem with the microprocessor IC (system control). If this is the case, then the set might not be economical to repair.
Perhaps the volume "up" button is stuck ?
