A solution of white vinegar and water is a good cleaner for irons. Steam irons get clogged with mineral deposits, and vinegar works well to dissolve those deposits. Make a 50/50 solution of the vinegar and water and pour it in the iron, and place the iron on steam, allowing the solution to work thru the iron. You may have to do the cleaning a few times, depending on how clogged the iron is.

For future reference, use distilled water in the iron, because distilled water does not contain any significant amount of minerals. Distilled water can be found in the supermarket in one gallon jugs.

My D2030 iron does not heat up the power light and the screen light come on but does not heat up

1...You need to check the iron settings as they have an adjustable knob that controls temperature as well as governs which kind of materials you want to iron. Different clothing materials need different temperature and other settings. Make sure you set the knob carefully. If you are unable to set the knob properly, you can check the user manual and make sure the temperature or heat amount is set at the right point.

2...Another thing that you need to check in order to inspect why the iron press is not heating up is the water reservoir. In some cases, if the water reservoir is empty then the iron press may not be heating up as much as it should.

For this, switch the iron off and make sure it is cool. Switch it on again and top up the water in the reservoir. Now try ironing again to see whether the heat is proper or not.

My Siemens TX20 Extreme Power iron says that it has no water when it is full. is there a reset button or something that I should know about?

Sounds like faulty Sensor, to expensive to repair , If you are happy that you can see water level and can live with it OK. Otherwise it's a NEW IRON

Need manual for rowenta DW2090 iron

I have provided a link to a manual that seems to belong to your model. But unsure what features your model has. This is not available for some reason at the Rowenta USA website.
Refer page 7 of the manual available at this site

Self Clean - prolongs the life of the iron
The Self clean function flushes dirt and scale particles
out of the steam chamber.
To operate:
• Fill the tank with untreated tap water up to the maximum
mark and heat the iron to max. temperature.
• Unplug from the mains.
• Hold iron over a sink horizontally, push the steam control
3 past the position and into the Self Clean position
and hold it there: steam will now begin to build up.
After a few seconds water and steam will emerge from
the soleplate, rinsing dirt and scale particles out of the
steam chamber.

After approx. 1 minute move the steam control slide to
the position.
• Insert mains plug and allow the iron to heat up again.
• Wait until the remaining water has evaporated.
• Unplug from the mains and allow iron to fully cool
down.
• When cool, the soleplate can be wiped with a damp
cloth.
We recommend using the Self Clean function approx.
Every 2 weeks. If the water is very hard, the iron should
be cleaned weekly.
Self Clean Valve
The self clean valve prevents the drip hole into the steam
chamber from furring or blocking up. To ensure the iron
continues to function properly, open and close the valve
by sliding the steam control to max then min a few times
after use.

Bosch Sensixx B25L

see the instruction from your manual:
Check the owner's manual for your iron to learn the manufacturer's suggestions for cleaning, what water to use, and storage tips.
Soft-water systems add minerals that can harm an electric steam iron and your clothes so don't fill the iron with softened water. Instead, use filtered or distilled water.
2) if the iron does not heat a( test the power cord for open or defective b) and thermostat for adjust c) test the thermal fuse d) test the heating element for open.
God bless you

While ironing with steam, scale deposits came out through holes. how do I clean iron

You can try this out, fill the Iron with a considerable amount of water, Switch On your Iron, Increase the heat controller Knob to the maximum so that the water boils and Place it Upside Down (As if you want to Iron) but dont let it touch the Pressing Table. Then keep pressing the button that disperses the steam until the whole water inside it finishes, repeat this same process over and over until it comes out clean...
(Alternatively however, you can just pour hot water though the water-inlet hole, and after a while, shake the iron and turn the water out upside down and let it pass out of the water-inlet hole...but please be careful with this second method though...because of the hot water)...hope it helps.

Brown dirt coming out of steam iron

You're seeing hard water deposits and maybe a little rust. Use some CLR and pour in the iron and let it sit with it off. Shake it a bit and let it clean it all out, then rinse with clean water. (Vinegar will work too)

Treatment of new iron

Before first use, remove any labels or stickers, on the body or soleplate of the iron. On first use only, iron over an old cotton cloth using steps 1 thru 5 below on setting 5 or above (and the SURGE button for models with that function) to remove any protective surface treatments. 1. Using a clean cup, pour water into one of the two openings in the Water Fill Hole until the level reaches the MAX mark on the Water Window (A). Refill as needed. 2. Ordinary tap water can be used for ironing. Do not use water processed through a home softening system. In extremely hard water areas, consider using distilled or demineralized water, however, use tap water the first time you use the iron and once a month thereafter to maintain steam performance.
