Hello, I have a sky dish and decoder, but before the decoder I have put a splitter and carried a seperate coax straight to another Freeview tv hoping to get a signal... But it hasnt. Is it possible to achieve what I am trying or do i need a separate cable from the dish for a different tv, or can i not use the sky dish for both freeview and sky?

David.
Are you using the same output from the LNB on your sky dish?
ie one cable??.
If you are it will not work you need to use a seperate output,
if you cant do this, you will need to change the LNB to a multi output one.
By the way there is 30 volts present all the time from your receiver to your LNB, that is even while switched off.

SOURCE: how do you tune in

You require a satelite decoder/receiver for your dish and an aerial for your TV.
The choice is yours. Plug a satelite receiver, for freesat, into the A/V input on the TV or have an aerial installed for freeview.

SOURCE: I have a Panasonic TH-P42S10Z

You can't connect your TV direct to the dish. It needs to be connected to a sky decoder to be used.

If you've got Freeview built in to your TV you'll need to have an external aerial fitted if one isn't already their.

Is their an external aerial and I'l look into the setup procedure for tuning the TV.

SOURCE: Panasonic tx32lxd60 to freeview hd?

Buy a seperate HD box. It is possible, but more hassle than it is worth ( and more expensive)The tuner board is only available from Panasonic.

I have connecting TV link with coax cable from my sky box to my LG 50PH660V 50-inch Widescreen 1080p TV But I can not get the sky to come on my TV. as channel 68 is DTV and on my remote it says TV/RAD

If I understand your problem the Y splitter is a passive splitter which mean that the centre pins are connected via capacitors this will degrade the picture on one or both outlets, the Sky box should be connected via a scart or HDMI connection

as far as I am aware, you need a standard analogue aerial to receive Freeview, not a dish. The aerial plugs into set top box, which is connected to tv by scart. Freeview is different from Freesat

xtreamz_69,

It sounds like you connected the coax cable to your TV. What channel is the TV set on when you have the Freeview connected? Because you are using a coax cable, the TV should be set to either channel 3 or 4 (normally channel 3). Check to make sure your TV is on one of those channels. Also verify your receiver is on. Your TV has the several other type ports (HDMI, component, composite) as alternatives to pick up your picture. If you have any other questions, please post to this site.

if you have connected your sky box as per instructions, putting the aerial coax to it and a fly lead(as in a male to female coax as used on a vcr to tv) from the output to the tv's aerial input, then disconnect the aerial from the sky box and put it back to the tv. The skybox will weaken and even loose the signal.

How do I setup my full hd freesat tv I have sky + do I take the dish cable out of the sky box or do I need another cable from the dish

If you really want to do this, well then you could use and antenna switcher, a small control box that the Antenna from the dish plugs into it and the Sky Box & Freeview each, plug separately into that box too, and then, you can select, which one the antenna is connected to. (Some even have remotes) OR you could simply "Split" the signal "IN" with an Antenna "Splitter" and run one feed to Sky & the other to Freeview. Now thats all amusing that you can get freeview from that Dish.

No the 2 receiver must be set. The supply going to LNB must switched off letting only one Freeview receiver supply to LNB is "ON". Meaning the one that give supply to LNB is the master receiver if you sw. it OFF the remaining2 can't receive programme.
