My Whirlpool window a/c is not cooling as well as it did last sum

Mer. It does blow refrigerated air (just doesn't feel like its cold enough), compressor comes on, etc. I set the "temp" to 64 (lowest) put it on "low fan", "power save". It cycles like it's supposed to, then the temp gauge for the room temp goes to 64 or sometimes even lower (I know it is not 64 degrees or lower in my house) and the compressor goes off. If I put it on "high fan" and "cool" it seems to bypass the temp setting but it still doesn't seem to get cold enough. Any ideas? Coolant leak? Thermostat problem? This is only it's second summer.

I know it has been at least a year since your post. I am answering the post to terminate FixYa site activity on the post.

Remove the front cover. Check the routing of the temp sensor wire. It should go from the bottom of the control panel to the plastic clip in the evaporator coils. If it is touching the eavporator coils it will sense the refrigerant temp and cycle off early. If the unit is freezing up there is a restriction in the coolant lines and usually will require the coolant system be purged of foreign internal debris.

Thanks for choosing FixYa.

My Whirlpool refrigerator ET8FTEXVQ01 is not cold enough

Sounds like the evaporator fan needs lubrication or replacing. It needs to run all the time so circulate the cold air in the cabinet and keep it a constant temperature.

My whirlpool gold two sided refrigerator, model #6D5RHAXNB00, the refrigerator side is not getting cold enough! I can't feel any cool air coming through the vent on the left upper corner.

your freezer may be iced up not allowing the cold air from the freezer to blow into the frige .you may see a ice build up on the back wall of the freezer.an ice build up can also stop the fan.if you can leave the unit off for 12 hrs or longer to thaw and that helps after restarting you may need to change the defrost timer ,defrost heater or both.a faster way is to remove the covers if you can do that.

Fridge not freezing meats

I was writing a big note here before then hit the wrong button, it was just a bunch of jargon anyway. Yes it is the condenser fan motor causing your problems. Doesn't cool the refrigerant properly than nothing works. I would change the fan before it causes any damage to the compressor.

Put new AC compressor on, ice cold air for 2 days then blowing cool to warm air. Compressor is working but air not cold. Sometimes will get a small burst of cooler air but doesn't last.

You did'nt mention if you got the system refilled with Refrigerant after the Compressor was replaced or not. If not, that could be the problem.

Refrigerator portion on top does have cooling but freezer on bottom works fine. I have read that the cooling all happens in the bottom and a fan transfers cool air to the the top.

if the fridge part is cool and freezer is fine what problem are you having?is the fridge not cold enough? a common problem with bottom mount freezers is the freezer door doesn't get closed all the way, warm air enters the freezer mixes with the zero degree air and freezes up the air ducts, when you open the freezer door you should hear the fan blowing,if it is check the ceiling in the freezer to see if ice is on it,check the packages for frozen water droplets and stick your hand in the fridge where the air ducts are to see if you can feel cold air blowing into the fridge,if you can't feel air blowing into the fridge, unplug it,open the freezer door, remove the top basket and remove all the food out of the bottom basket, with a hair dryer blow into the back wall into the vent holes and melt out all the ice in the ducts, you'll see water dripping down through the vent holes, when the water stops dripping plug it back in and see if the fan is blowing the air into the fridge.also you can remove the bottom kickplate and you should see a tech sheet in it,read it and it will tell you how to put the machine into defrost,it will stay in defrost for like 20 minutes, you can do this instead of unplugging it, there's a heater that comes on behind the back panel in the freezer, this can help you melt out the ice but if it seems to hard to do just unplug it.

Refrigerator and freezer are not cool enough. Cleaned coils, has enough space between walls.etc.

Most likely problem is the internal fan. The fan draws air across the cooling coils and blows it into the freezer and refrigerator compartments. If it malfunctions, there's nothing to move the cold air and both sides of the unit get warm.
