I need a little more info on this issue. Do you hear the power supply fan operating when you switch the server on? Did the server still startup even though the monitor is not displaying? Did this problem just occur or where there other signs of a problem coming? This may sound a little foolish to you, but check to make sure that the server is plugged into power and that the monitor is connected properly. There should at least be a message on the monitor indicating there is no signal coming to the monitor. The first thought that comes to mind if all is connected would be that the power supply has failed. Please check this out and get back to me with info.

i also have exactly the same problem. ive only just inherited this server and have never previousy owned 1 before. i know nothing about servers. i know alot about computers but from what i see, servers are much larger, heavier, faster, and LOUDER !!!
im scared to turn it on haha sounds like its guna blow up! like a car revving.. lol.
so ive found the courage to turn it on long enough get past the fans and it done nothing. so i thought it might be a bios problem so i took out the battery for a couple of minuets and put it back in .. now it makes a siren/beeping noise after the fans quiet down again .. what the hell does that mean? is it gunna blow up or is it safe to leave it on long enough to see the next thing that suggests it dont work? theres definatly no loose connections i checked that but the only thing i can think of thats diferent to in an office is i am using a power lead from a normal computer going directly from the psu to the wall. when i took the server from a warehouse as i was directed to, there was also two large box-type components the kind of size of half a car battery.. im presuming this was a battery pack for when you have power cuts? or is this something more dependant that i should have taken along with it? how do i get this damn thing to work? lol please help
