Is this camera compatible with Vista now?

Is this camera compatible with Vista now, on the support website for logitech I dont see any compatible drivers to download? I installed it with the CD it came with and it worked for a day and then when i tried to restart my computer it wouldn't. I had to restore the system from a previous point before I installed the webcam and then my computer restarted again. On the installation CD, vista is an option. If there isnt compatibility, it shouldn't be an option.

The Quickcam Express is not compatible with Vista. The reason Vista is available on the CD is because it is a standard CD shipped with all Logitech Webcams. Compatibilty specifications would have been available on the packaging. Please see here.

If you have a different camera than the Quickcam Express, then select your camera from this page and see if there is a download for Vista. If not, then you may have to exchange the camera from the point of purchase, if you purchased it recently.

If the camera IS compatible with Vista, then try a clean boot install as outlined in this article.

Let me know how it goes..

check out these forums.

If you give me more of a model number for the camera, or computer if it is a built in, I can find more specific information for you as to drivers for vista, if available.

Some of the older hardware isn't compatible.

Driverless pc camera is not supporting for vista help me to solve

The only thing you can try is installing under administrative rights the windows xp driver using compatibility mode for windows xp, this has about an 80% chance of working. I did it wiith my logitech cam that is no longer supported by logitech and is not compatible with windows vista and it worked, of course I don't have all the capabilities I had with Windows XP with the cam but it still works for chat etc.

Quickcam want work

Check for driver updates on the Logitech homepage, make sure that you download the driver for the specific model of your camera. Maybe the old driver is not windows vista compatible.

Trying to get around buying a new webcam

When this happened to me with my web cams, Vista has always installed my cameras with the "Look 321P" driver, after I told it to "Search the 'net" for "Drivers". So try that it has worked for me on a number of occasions as I said.
