I have cwm saying it cant mount ext sd card to get my back up
CWM Recovery only supports FAT32 partitions on External SD card's if your SD Card is larger than 32Gb than most likely it is formated as exFAT which is not supported by CWM Recovery either reformat your card to FAT32(be sure to move your backup temporarily to your PC because formating it will erase all data from the SD card. Another alternative is to use TWRP(TeamWindowsRecoveryPro) instead but i'm not sure if TWRP is available for the LG Thrill or not(Google TWRP for LG Thrill and see if it's available)

you can try plugging the SD card into your computer with an SD card adapter and see if you can access your files.
You may have to format your SD card if you cannot access your files this way. from the phone go to settings, SD Card - phone storage (some phones its labeled different) From there you can format your SD card, depending on your phone you may have to choose Unmount SD card first.
If you continue to receive errors or are unable to format the card, it is most likely that the SD card is bad and needs to be replaced.

all you have to do is insert the card into the phone, go to your picture, hit the options button, go to and click manage pics from the options menu, mark the pics that you want to move to your phone, hit the options button again and select move, from that menu select move to phone.

If there is one there, take it out and put it back in again and see if it still says that...sometimes the contact points lose their connection for some reason...
