I've had the Samsung L200 with the same Panasonic 1GB memory card for the last 3 years and it's been great, but all of a sudden today it started saying 'memory full' after only taking a few...

The camera is telling you that the internal memory is full. To get your card to work, you must clear it. With no card in the camera, go into the menu and find "format" and follow the on-screen instructions to erase the internal memory. Then, your card should work unless you formatted it in the computer, in which case you'll have to format (completely erases it) it in the camera.

Camper says internal memory is full and i have only taken 12 pics. i think there might be "protected" pics. but i don't even know how to protect pics or to un protect them.

Digital cameras that come with internal memory usually have a very small amount of storage capacity (usually 32 or 64MB). I'm not sure why the manufacturers even bother with internal storage when you can get memory cards that have much more capacity. You need to either download the photos you've taken to your PC and then delete the photos so you can take more shots, or you need to insert a memory card. Depending on your model of camera you need a microSD or SD card. Let me know the model number of the camera and I will tell you what you need to get.

Hope this helps!

My flip camera says its empty but when I try to record it says its full??

Your memory card may think it's full if you've been deleting pics from it when it's in your PC and not in the camera.

If you've offloaded all the pics you want to from your memory card, put it back in your camera and "reformat" the card - there should be instructions how to do this in your camera manual. (If you've misplaced your manual you can likely find an online version on the website of your camera manufacturer). Hopefully this will fix your problem.

From now on, (even if you have to buy a new memory card), don't do any editing or deleting of pics directly on the memory media while it is in your PC (or Mac). Offload your pics to a file of their own on the PC (you can edit pics from that file). Then put the memory card back into the camera, verify that you did indeed successfully offload the pics to the PC (with the media card out of the PC), then delete the pics from the card while it's in the camera.

Reformat the memory card periodically (in the camera) after you've offloaded your pics (reformatting will erase all pics so you've gotta be sure you captured them elsewhere) to maintain the 'health' & full functionality of your memory card.

thanks.

I have taken 8 pictures with my camera and we had put in an 8gb memory card, but my camera says internal memory is full. this is a brand new camera, and I am learning about it, but why is the memory...

Apparently, you used the internal memory before putting in the memory card. Now the camera only wants to use the internal memory. Here's the fix...with no card in the camera, go into the menu and find "format"...follow the on-screen instructions to erase the internal memory. Then, insert the memory card. If this is a new card, you will need to format it in the camera, too. If there are any pics on it, download them first using a card reader if necessary, because the card will be completely erased.

I downloaded pics from my vivicam 8025 with the memory card. they are on my photo gallery, but it erased them off the card and now it says the card is full too. what is the problem

You may have your photo gallery set to erase after downloads. You need to change that. Pics erased on your computer will still register as files on your camera even though you can't see them. You need to format the card in the camera. If you can't change the settings in your photo gallery, you could use a card reader and download to a folder you create on your desktop. From there, you can transfer them to photo gallery and your originals are still on the memory card.

Hi everyone, I just bought my camara last night and added a memory card. The camara now is saying that the internal memory is full, and I have only taken 1 picture? I'm hoping you can help me, please?...

You need to get that one pic out of the internal memory. Here's how...remove your memory card. Go into the menu and find "format"...follow the on-screen instructions to erase the internal memory. Then, insert your memory card and do the "format" thing again to erase and initialize the card. Everything should work properly now.

Download all your pics, then format the card using the camera menu. Formatting will erase all pics and clean your card.

Erasing pictures

If you erase them off your memory card they shouldn't be transfering back onto your computer. I would say that maybe they are saved on your internal memory of the camera also. Take your memory card out and see if when you turn the camera on you have pics in the camera stored. If you do delete them then. :)
