My true cooler model GDM-35 was sitting @ 50 degrees this morning when I came into work. What could be the cause of this?
Dirty or greasy condenser, cooling coil iced up, compressor failing, dirty cooling coils or blocked with paper or wrap, low on gas from a system leak, above or below operating temperatures in the area surrounding the refrigerator, condenser fan motor failed, one of the doors was left open, bad wall plug, failed thermometer, or a combination of any of the above. Hope this helps good luck.

The unit has a temperature swing adjustment screw located behind the thermostat plate. If you remove the knob and the face plate you will see it,It can be adjusted there. It may also be the thermostat bulb is going bad or touching something and giving a false signal to the compressor.

Install a constant cut-in thermostat. Constant cut-in temp of 37 degrees coil temp.

Is it very hot out side the unit.recharging may not hurt is it cleaned the lint could be trapping the radiator were the coolan goes through to cool down try cleanning underneath before recharging

SOURCE: HOW AND WHERE DO YOU ADD FREON TO THE GDM-12 TRUE
This whole idea is something you should have a qualified refrigeration technician doing. There's a point in the piping from the compressor to the radiator fins, which can be located behind, underneath or inside behind a plastic panel, where the freon is both installed and removed. It requires special equipment to do both and if you get moisture in the system you can pretty much kiss it good bye. Let a pro do this.
