SOURCE: mitsubishi WD-62827---PICTURE TURNS GREEN

I had the same problem. I deducted that if my TV worked fine for an hour or so and then the colors became bad (green, people's faces purple...), it must be a overheating problem. Simple logic, right? So, I picked up a few tools and a small vaccum and went to work.
I went first for the main source of heat: The lamp. Just a few screws, and I removed it. The lamp cage has a fine screen to prevent the dust to cover the lamp. Mine was covered with dust! And the fan behind the lamp was also covered with dust! Bingo!!! That's my problem! I cleaned everything and vaccumed all the air vents on the the back of the TV. I put the lamp back and checked that the fan was working. The TV works like new since!
Before you are out of a TV for days and spend an arm and a leg for a "Technician" to fix it (replacing expensive parts that didn't need to be replaced in the first place), try what I described above first. It's very simple and it takes only 15 minutes.
Since my TV is 2 1/2 years old, I purchased a replacement lamp. I know that one of these days it will burn out. I'll be ready and my TV will be working again in 15 minutes!
Since my problem was solved, I didn't go to the next step. There must be one or two other cooling fans inside the TV, but they must be working...
Good luck,

SOURCE: RED LAMP LIGHT!!

Check to make sure your lamp is not blown.

Make sure you installed a Mits original, and not a generic.

Make sure the lamp is seated and secured properly, as slight movement can cause a loss of connection.

Slide your set out to the side and peer into it through the slats. Can you see the lamp fire on?

Your symptom does not indicate that it could be a problem other than the lamp and the installation thereof, however---there is an instance where 2 capacitors will blow on the power supply and cause a red lamp light to show. Furthermore, the light engine itself could be causing the problems.

But, since you just installed the lamp, I would look over your installation.

Tv shuts off

Likely a bad lamp or a color wheel not starting.

My Mitsubishi WD-65638 turns on then flickers and turns off?

Flickering must be due to the fault to lamp itself. If you wish to get more details, check this link.

Mitsubishi wd-65734 65 in. Tv shuts off on its own and red lamp light comes on. after a few minutes i can turn it back on and works fine for a few min to an hr before doing it again. anyone no wat the...

Same thing on my tv after replacing lamp. Lamp manufacturer advised me that after changing bulb, tv must be reset or tv will go into safety mode and will not turn on. To do this on my model WD-65734 you must hold reset button in with a pen or paperclip for about 10 secs. The LED will start blinking for a few mins. When itstops you need to unplug tv set for about 1 hour. After this the tv will be reset.
