Sharp mx3110n printer won't use bypass tray? Trying to print on glossy paper using that tray and it won't, it automatically switches to tray 1. Or can I just put glossy paper in tray 1?

Hello Laura,
Here is the pdf that explains how to set up th bypass tray; http://support.appstate.edu/sites/support.appstate.edu/files/MX3110%20USE%20SPECIAL%20PAPER%20IN%20THE%20BYPASS.pdf

The text of it is as follows;

TO USE SPECIAL PAPER IN THE BYPASS
? Press either the picture of the copier or press
paper select
? Load paper in the bypass
? Make sure the correct size shows up under
bypass tray
? If paper is not just plain paper press type and
size
? Choose paper type
? If you are printing to the bypass from your
computer you must also tell the print driver
under the paper tab what type of paper is in
the bypass if its not just plain paper
? The copier and the PC must match paper
types
? Press the X button to Accept

Good Luck!

Ricoh Aficio 2035 all-in-one laser won't print from Bypass Tray

there are two places to set the paper tray on the ricoh aficio 2035 print drivers first make sure you are using the PCL 5 drivers not pcl6 or rpcs then go to the printers folder and set the defaults by right clicking the printer and selecting properties printing preferences, then go into word and select print set up and properties then defaults for printer select bypass tray and select labels enter the correct sheet size for the labels from the drop down box click apply and you should be set.
if this resolves your issue please rate my anser accordingly

Cannot send a p rint job to pring labels from word to bypass tray with Canon 5000 copier Click on copier properties, click on bypass tray and then ok and print. Will not print fromt he bypass tray Ideas?...

If you can copy from the bypass, you should be able to print from it. It may be a setting in the print driver. Not the one you use through windows but the one installed in the printers folder in control panel. Check that it is not set to draw 1 - it should be on AUTO. Also, the document you are using has print settings of its own - check them as they will overide the tray you select. Select from within your document file - options - printer then look through those settings and anything telling the machine to print to a particular draw will make your job go there instead of where you ask it to.

Printing

There are 3 different locations where paper trays are selected.
1 is on the machine.
2 is in the print properties on the driver
3 is in Word itself, in differeing locations on the top tool bar depending on the version you are running.
I doubt you have to install anything, just one of those locations has your bypass selected. Maybe someone was running envelopes or labels and wound up selecting the bypass as the default tray in word, or again the driver properities.
This one is just searching through the driver and programs until you find the location that the bypass is selected as the default tray.
Just persistance, and yeah can be frustrating finding the exact location of the change.
