check the lens cover hood to see that it's on correctly, and that the lamp door is closed. if they are, check the switches. on the hood and the lamp door, there are plastic protrusions that hit the switch activators. if they are broken off or warped, you need to replace the door/hood. if they are there, check the switch itself. replace as necessary.

I'm a techie with a school district and have the same problem. My suspicion is it's a lamp issue, though the teacher using it says there was no low hours warning. Unfortunately I don't have a spare to try out so if anyone can state categorically that it IS the bulb then I will purchase one.

sounds like an electronic problem rather than an optical fix.
Has she changed the setup of the unit recently
