Setting timer on window unit to turn on and off

Hi Jessica Yacopino - Generally speaking, Frigidaire air conditioners timer option typically have the same procedure. The unit must be in the ON position for the timer delay stop option. For delay start, the unit must be in the OFF position. First, press time button. Then to adjust timer setting, tap or hold the UP arrow or the DOWN arrow to change delay timer at .5 hour increments, up to 10 hours, then by 1 hour increments up to 24 hours. The control will count down the time remaining until start (8, 7.5, 7, etc.). The Delay Start mode automatically selects cooling with maximum Fan Speed. The temperature maintained will be the same as previously set. To change the set temperature, press "COOL" then Up or Down arrows until the desired temperature is indicated on the display. After 5 seconds, the control will automatically change the display back to the hours remaining until the unit will start/stop. PRESSING the unit On/Off button at any time will cancel the Delay Start/Stop function. The Delay Start/Stop Feature will work until the unit either starts or stops. Once that happens the above steps have to be repeated again.

Furnace is 7 years old. Will not stay running for more than 5 min. Will start up again after shutting off and then run for another 5 min. Suggestions?

Check the air filter. Jump out thermostat to see if it stays running longer, if so replace thermostat. Make sure all return air ducts are clear of debris. If furnace has a Fan/Limit switch, make sure tabs are set at 100, 140 and 200. Sounds like something may be heating up and shutting unit off till it cools back down.

I have an old honeywell thermostat which does operate correctly apart from the fact that the heating will never cut out for more than 1-2 minuters even when the rooms are at their correct temperature. it...

If this is an old on/off thermostat it's probably bad. If it is a programmable thermostat, it may have a jumper to set the on/off delay to 2 min or 5 min. Also, if the thermostat is mounted on an outside wall this can happen.

Dryer runs for 5 or 10 min then shuts off

You cycling thermostat is bad, making it run on the thermal cut off. When it gets to hot, it breaks the circuit. After it cools, it remakes therefore you are able to turn it on again. If you continue to operate it this way, it will go out therefore putting you thermal fuse out also. Go to partselect.com. enter your model number. This will bring you unit up. You will be able to find the parts you need and even order them if you want. As of now, all you will need is a Cycling thermostat

Ac set at 74 room temp up to 78 and no Ac kicking on.

it could be the thermostat is loose on the subbase or if you went from OFF to COOL and the stat is a digital stat It will not come on for five min. This is a delay set by the manufacture to protect the compressor. during normal operation you will not notice because thier will be more than 5 min from the time it shuts of till it need to come back on but if the system switch is set to off and you switch to cool or unit just shut off it will always delay 5min. usualy there will be some insdiction on the screen that it is in delay like a flashing COOL or SNOW FLAKE or the word WAIT. the unit will not be running until the flashing words go solid

Stoves 720ef fan oven cuts out after a while, then cools down and restarts......help

There are thermal cutouts for both ovens. When the fan oven cuts out, does the thermostat display and the oven lamps go out as well or do they stay on? Is the oven cooling fan working ok, i.e. does it run for about 10 mins after you turn all the controls off? Do you think the oven thermostat is working ok and not running too hot? If it is, Lakeland do an oven thermometer for about 5 pounds that you can check the thermostats with.

RTH230B thermostat not working - nothing's happening

The 2nd combination is correct (w/ jumper). Wire nut or tape the blue wire. The snow flake shows it's going into cooling mode after a 5 min delay. If the AC is not coming on then the problem may not be the thermostat. If you don't have 24VAC between the red wire and the blue one the problem is at the furnace or it's supply. If you do, then check for 24VAC between the blue wire and Y on the thermostat(after the 5min delay) - if it's there the thermostat is calling for cooling. To check the heat, switch the thermostat to heat mode and use the W(instead of Y) on the thermostat(after the flame stops flashing).
