Frigidaire equips most of its refrigerator models with automatic defrosting capabilities. This means that owners don't have to set a calendar reminder to manually defrost. The internal automatic defrost control and timing mechanism is placed at the bottom of most Frigidaire refrigerators, next to the stationary panwhere is the defrost relay button? - icon1.png that captures water - even the defrosted meltwater is automatically evaporated. You might be confused about how the defrost timer works, thinking it is broken. Frigidaire understood this might be an issue for some owners and suggests double-checking the defroster for normal operation because it may not be malfunctioning at all.

Need manuel for a Kenmore frostless quick freezer model #253.9280410

I don't have a manual but these are fairly simple. On the back inside below is a defrost heater and terminator sorta like this:themobilian_747.jpg
The cold control maintains the temp and their is a timer that either puts it in run for 10 hours or defrost for 21 minutesthemobilian_748.jpgThe compressor relay goes out on these. The defrost heater or defrost heater termination themostat can cause defrost failure if bad.Not much to these babys.

Everything has defrosted the lights are still on. and there is no no noise coming from the back of it now.

If this is a self defrosting unit, the defrost timer may be stuck in the defrost cycle. Or perhaps the cold control went bad, or even the compressor or starting relay burned out.

My service man replaced the defrost cycle timer and the relay (timer was definitely broken, relay was highly suspect) but the freezer fan still has no power so freezer will not chill adequately despite...

Most all commercial freezers have a fan delay/ defrost terminator. It is usually mounted on the end of the evap coil. It's purpose is to sense the temp of the coil during the defrost cycle. When it hits a preset temp., usually around 55 degrees or more (depends on Mfg.) It terminates the defrost cycle. It also doubles as a fan delay. It allows the evap coil to cool off from the defrost cycle before allowing the fan to come on. Usually, the coil has to get around 20 degrees before fan will energize. I would look for this as a possible problem. It could be one device with 3 wires or 2 separate devices with 2 wires each. I've seen it both ways.
Hope this helps.

I have a True Freezer Model T-49. It works fine but every 3 or 4

This sounds like a stuck relay to me. I have seen this problem before. The defrost clock kills power to the compressor relay coil during defrost. If the contacts in the relay are welded together the compressor runs while unit is trying to defrost. On newer units this relay is mounted in base of unit on the side or back of the electrical box near center bottom of unit. The compressor relay is a small rectangular box with 4 wires attached. It can be replaced with a single pole 20 amp contactor with a 120 volt coil/ or 240 volt. Check the units name plate voltage rating and ratings on old relay! ;)

Defrosting freezer

There is a relay on the front of compressor called PTC relay. If you heard a clicking repeatedly take the relay off and get a new one. You will need the model number of your unit. I like using the 3 in 1 relay lot cheaper and real easy to install. If you want to get with me and I can email you through it.
