Hitch mounted bike rack that doesn't seem to fit Envoy
I have a hitch mounted bike rack (for 4 bikes) but when i try to install it, it seems that the spare tire or it's mounting system is in the way. What can i do, other than the obvious?

perhaps. It is always best to check with the manufacturer of the bike rack you
will be using. Some manufacturers do not recommend the use of their
racks with class 1 hitches. Those that have bike racks to work with
class 1 hitches typically have very specific weights, specifications,
and may even limit the number of bikes allowable. Just remember, when
calculating the weight of your load don't forget to add in the weight of
the bike rack itself. B&W Trailer hitches are great for this job.
their are many places online to buy a hitch, its custom, so you shouldn't try to fab one I have found them thru draw-tite for around 120 bucks, another 35 for the wiring adaptor, and then u just need a ball and mount, ball usually 10 bucks , mount another 20
Is the clutch lever sized or is the plates sized?
Usually the plates inside sizes, all you have to do is select gear 2 or 3 without starting the bike's engine, operate the clutch lever and push the bike,it should release, the rear wheel should now rotate freely with clutch lever in operation and in gear.
Hope this helps!
dear friend-the roof rack on a sante fe can not be moved.should you attempt that you will have constant rattles on your roof.i can surgest.that you modify your bike rack.
I had a similar problem with an 88 F250. Measure the tire height with tire standing, then measure space between hitch and measure frame from same place.
If the space between the frame would allow the tire to fit without the hitch, you need a wider hitch. If your current hitch has room for the tire you are all set.
Usually a heavier class hitch will have wider mounting points, but be aware that access to put in bolts may require you to weld the hitch to the truck.
