How do I set the sleep timer on the remote for Toshiba Model 32A41?

Programming the Sleep Timer:

1. Press and release the TV key.
2. Press and hold the SLEEP key for three seconds. The illuminated component name turns on.
3. Release the SLEEP key.
4. Using the number keys, enter the desired time in minutes (from 1-99 minutes). To set the timer to an umber under 10 minutes, first press 0 and then the desired number (e.g.,05 for five minutes). The illuminated component name blinks with each key press.
5. Once the second number is entered,the illuminated component name turns off.
   Tip Any key press other than the number keys is ignored. If you don't enter the sleep time within 10 seconds after pressing the SLEEP key, you must start over at step 1. The illuminated component name blinks four times and then turns off, indicating your attempt to program the Sleep Timer has been unsuccessful.
6. The Sleep Timer is now set.
7. Leave remote aimed at the TV. Once the Sleep Timer is set, you can continue to use the remote without affecting the Sleep Timer. However, because the timing mechanism for the Sleep Timer is built into the remote itself, the remote must be in TV Mode and pointed at the TV to activate the Sleep Timer.
   Note: If the ON·OFF key is pressed, the Sleep Timer is canceled.

My control remote not work in the TV

I would not waist my time unless the damage is around the area where the foils are big enough to repair.

Setting the Sleep Timer The sleep timer allows your LCD TV to automatically turn OFF after a given amount of time. You can set the sleep timer using your remote control or through the onscreen display (OSD).
TO SET THE SLEEP TIMER USING THE REMOTE CONTROL
1. Press the SLEEP button on the remote control. The sleep timer appears at
the top of your screen.
2. Press the SLEEP button one or more times to select the time you want.
3. Press the EXIT button to hide the sleep timer display. Your sleep timer is now running in the background. The sleep timer will be hidden after 10 seconds.
Turning On the LCD TV.
1. Press the MAIN POWER switch in the back of the unit (see Back Connectors for location). The Status LED on the front turns orange
and your LCD TV is ready to turn on.
2. Press the POWER button on the front of your LCD TV or on your
remote control. The Status LED on the front turns green.

please clarify it are you getting light? power button will not turn it off means what.

just checked a similar sets owners manual...the sleep timer on this model is located in the menu---setup,,this menu prompt has language,SLEEP,menu trans,menu timeout ,and default setting....if you don't see the SLEEP mode in setup--you probably don't have it!...hope that helps

the sleep does not work at all on this remote it is like some kind of recall
