SOURCE: Whirlpool dryer front panel
I located a video on youtube.com free of charge. I removed the lint screen, and removed the two screws located in the lint screen housing. Then I pryed the top off near the front of the dryer, which has two clips. Then I remove the two screws locate on the top of the front panel, but they are located on the inside. I removed the door lid swich by removing the two screws. Lastly, I pulled the front panel outward and pulled up lightly. The front panel was off. The issue I had was the dryer would heat up and then got cool after five minutes. The solution was to replace the coils. Important point is that the coils ohm readings were within specifications, but I did located information on the web that indicated this was a potential solution to the issue, and I replaced the coils even though the resistances were within specification. Total cost $22.95 plus tax.
