IPad does not recognize the device. Is it even possible to pair?

You simply need to hold the button down for a long time, it will flicker blue at first, don't let go of the button, and it'll turn blue for pairing.

turn on cell phone. activate bluetooth. press right button to search for bluetooth devices. Then press the on button and the volume UP button at the same time on the Jabra headset. The cell phone then finds the device. put in the password/pin (usually 0000). and voila! it works

You have to first put the Headset into discoverable mode. According to the Jabra website, this is done by pressing and holding the end/mute button until the light comes on steady. Follow the procedure for your phone to pair a bluetooth device to it. The PIN code will be 0000.
