Hello. If it resembles a tiny bright green dot, this is most probably a dead pixel. In the troubleshooting guide in the user manual, the manufacturer states that some pixel loss is normal--either they will be gone or permanently "on". If the unit is new(i.e. still under some warranty) talk with the supplier about options--they *may* decide to replace it if the dot is in a particularly annoying location. Be aware though, they won't be under obligation to do so. I own a LCD projector with a few visible pixels--as devices such as these(lcd tv's, projectors, plasma, etc.) age, this type of phenomenon is going to occur. Normally--and this certainly isn't always true, there is a tolerance of 3-9 pixels. Check with the supplier and/or manufacturer for individual specs. Especially if the unit is under warranty!--Hope I successfully assisted you.---Rick

Help with JVC HD52G887 red light blinking!!Please!!

The model indicated did have some real odd issues--some require a computer to actually be connected to a plug inside the set to address and or reset the processor in the set.

If the set functions except for this issue I would frankly just use it.

This is not unlike a issue I had in a older SUV---the check light would come on and constantly go off and on every 5 minutes like a clock---when looked up it meant something had triggered it but the issue did not exist any longer--a reset of the computer stopped this annoying problem and that light never came on again.

Kind of stupid but true.

HD52G887 BPA. We turn the power on but it keeps turning itself off. No picture, no nothing. Just the red and blue lights flashing on the front.

aseek02,

If you have never changed the lamp I would do that first. I have a tip at http://www.fixya.com/support/r4168009-change_lamp_in_dlp_projection_tv
which will walk you through the removal and reinstall process as well as tell you where to find the parts at the best price.

Thanks for using FixYa and for the great rating.

JVC HD52G887 52 in. HDTV Television lamp light and power light blink alternatel. the lamp comes on and then goes out before the screen is visible and then the lights blink

you lamp may be cracked and need to be replaced or for some reason you may be having a surge, but my money is on the lamp. open it up and inspect the lamp for discoloration or cracks and buy a new one online and replace. This is really a cheap and easy fix

Green dot on scren

I'm having the same issue on my older JVC GZ-MG model. It seems to only happen in low light situations. I can't believe there is nothing on the web about this.

HD52G887 no sound

Hmm.. If you have your television hooked up via component connection.. you may be forgetting the audio cable. This is a very easy mistake to make while component cables usually dont come with audio or optical audio cables.
