there is a motor with a flapper that opens and closes to keep your temp correct in the refrigerator side most likely the motor is bad and stuck open so your air from the freezer has constant flow to the refr side. the flapper is in the back of the refr behind a cover where the air flows in.
Hi,
There can be many reasons why your refrigerator is freezingyour food. To see what could be happening and to figure out how to possibly fixyour problem. Take a look at this tip which contains many of the causes andsolutions to fix the problems.
I have Model ET8CHMXKQO-3 whirlpool fridge with the same problem. The problem I believe is due to the drain line to the tray that collects defrost water freezing up. Temporary solution is defrosting the fridge; permanent solution is running a thin wire thru the drain line that aparently prevents the condensing water from freezing. I am trying to find out how to install this wire and where to buy it.
The problem may just be the water control valne for the ice maker side is defective. I will return with part numbers and I would like you to fill the ice maker with water and let it freeze. If the ice dumps then we will know it is the water control valve, Sea Breeze
its a confirm defrost timer problem.the defrost timer is a device which after every interval of 8 hours defrosts the freezer part if the timer is faulty it wont defrost and go on over freezing.you can buy the defrost timer for aprox 30 dollars from link below:http://www.repairclinic.com/thanks and plse do not forget to rate the solution.
Check the defrost timer, mark it and see if the dial rotates. It takes a while to see if it moves. Make sure food in the freezer is not blocking the openings for air to move around.
Your unit was in defrost mode (happens once a day) and ice that built up over the previous 24 hours was melting and draining down a drain line to a pan under the unit so it will evaporate. This is how freezers stay " Frost free ". The water in the pan under the unit will evaporate by itself. Have a great day!
