BenQ w1080st. Just replaced lamp, after it has been working fine until bulb broke. Now green temp light comes on and screen goes dark after 3-4 min?

The green temp light indicates that the fan isn't working; some models have 2 fans. The fan cools the projector lamp and protects the unit from damage. When the fan isn't working, the projector turns off to keep the temperature from continuing to rise. This information is available on page 52 of the User Manual available here: https://www.benq.com/en-us/support/downloads-faq/products/projector/w1080st/manual.html . The current link to the manual is https://esupportdownload.benq.com/esupport/Projector/UserManual/Projector_um_User%20Manual_20130529_114725W1070_W1080ST_EN.pdf . The recommended solution is a service call.

If your projector is out of warranty and not covered by a repair plan, I found several sources for the replacement fan with a Google search. IFixit has some videos for taking apart the projector to clean it and replace the fan on some BenQ projectors.

I hope this helps.

When I plug my Sony projector up turn it on about 5 seconds later the temp fan light comes on what's wrong with it

Any one of the cooling fan inside the projector is not running. There can be two or three fans inside the projector.

A power cut whilst the projector being used, caused power light to blink red, now the projector doesn't turn on

it could be the fan, colorwheel or high temp. remove the lamp and turn it on. do the fans spin? if not, replace the fans. does the colorwheel (colored glass wheel near the lamp) spin? you should be able to see it and hear a high-pitched whir. if not, replace the colorwheel. if the lamp was still hot when it was turned off, you need to let the fans run and cool. then unplug it, plug it back in and try again.

BLINKING TEMP LIGHT ON HP VP6110 PROJECTOR

All projectors are cooled by the use of a fan. The light chamber has its owned fan to extract the excessive heat generated by lamp. Check to see if this fan, close to the fan is operating.

Hitachi projector temp light

This is what your projector's user manual says about a flashing "TEMP" light :

"The cooling fan is not operating. Turn the power OFF and wait approximately 20 minutes. After the main unit has cooled down, please make confirmation that no foreign matter has become caught in the fan, etc. After performing any needed maintenance, turn the power ON again; if the same display is displayed, then please contact a sales store or a service company."
