please perform the steps below and then try to install the software:

1. Click Start , select Settings , and then click Control Panel .
2. Double-click Administrative Tools .
3. Double-click Services .
4. Right-click Print Spooler and select Stop to stop the services.
5. Click Restart to restart the service.
6. Click OK .
7. Restart the computer.

SOURCE: I am unable to print anything on my hp photosmart

I don't have a solution but I bought a C4795 and followed the directions exactly. It would not install onto my wireless and then the printer only showed the HP logo with a blue bar beneath it.
There is nothing that can be done for it. It goes unresponsive and is now a paper weight. I won't be buying anymore HP products
