Is the stopping button wore out. If so you can get a new one. Maybe it just goes in too easy.

SOURCE: tractor sprinkler, (traveling sprinkler)

I made mine stay on by wrapping a plastic tie wrap around the shaft of the stopper between the stopper head & where the stopper shaft enters the housing. It must be wide enough to keep the plunger/stopper from going into the housing. Hope this helps. God Bless You!!! Darrell

SOURCE: need parts

Have you tried their website? These sprinklers are relatively expensive units as I remember. Well made and well worth fixing. Usually nylon gears with stainless steel shafts. Parts should be available through Nelson. Google: Nelson Traveling Sprinklers and see what sites pop up. If this has been helpful, please rate it accordingly. Good luck.

SOURCE: Tractor is traveling backwards!!

there is no fluid or filters in transmission, Try turning the nozzles on the spray arms so that they point the opposite direction. If point the wrong way the tractor will travel backward

You should be able to push it forwards as well as backwards. I had a similar problem (engine stalling) with mine. I found out if I half choke it, it will stay running. Transmission may still have a problem.

I have a Nelson traveling tractor for at least 12 years, now. No problem until this week. While traveling tractor was watering yard it turned over in some softer sand - which it has done previously - and...

I think that you need a new gear box. Your unit is 12 years old and the valve inside (the box) probably became separated from the "button" you pull down. Getting a new valve would solve your problem but, it would have to be installed inside the gear box. Since the gears may be worn (after 12 years) - I recommend a new gear box. This would solve your problem and prevent future "worn out" problems. This also saves you assembly of small parts.

Mower will not stop when clutch is depressed

When you replaced the belt you either got a shorter belt or you have rerouted the belt wrong. You might try and get an original; belt and replace the one on the tractor. Good Luck-David
