I was using my walk behind lawn mower with belt drive for about 1 hour when I noticed the powered drive was gradually getting weaker, until it was driving any longer. I adjusted the drive cable as manufacturer suggested by loosening the cable retaining nut, pull drive handle back, pull cable down to take up the cable slack, push cable housing 1/2" forward, tighten cable retainer nut. I started the mower, pulled drive handle but the mower didn't move. What else is there to check or adjust? I tipped the mower on its side to check the drive belt, all I can see is that the belt is around the drive shaft pulley.

I would syggest you take it back and have them repair it under warrenty, if it's something wrong then you don't want to void your warrenty so call up the place you bought it from and tell them your problem. You service manual would have this information but as I said do not touch it until calling the company you bought it from and then get it done under warrenty, if you still need help post to the link in your e-mail when you recieve this reply.

It sounds like the cable still needs more adjustment. The cable needs to be tighter. This is going to be hard to explain by typing. But I will give it a try. When you pull the handle in about 1/2 way mark the place where the lever on the drive motor is at. And take the cable loose and reattach the cable back to the mark that you made previously. So when the bar is released, it is like it is pulled in half way now. I hope that this makes sense. Let me know if I need to try to explain more.
