No "message for you" display notification shows when there are messages waiting for me. How do I turn this feature on? I never know when I have a message!
It's extension 316 which isn't set as the receptionist.....I've checked with her and she doesn't get a notification unless she actually has messages.
At first I thought it was the phone itself but I just got a new phone and still no luck! It's extension 316 which isn't set as the receptionist.....I've checked with her and she doesn't get a notification unless she actually has messages.

Depending on your notification settings, the phone plays a ringtone, vibrates, or displays the message briefly in the status bar when you receive a new message. A new message icon is also displayed in the status bar. To open and read the message, you can:
Slide open the Notifications panel. Then tap the new message.
Open the Messages application to access and read the message.
The red light is MESSAGE WAITING. It is not necessarily VM notification. Press the MESSAGE button and look at the display. One of the soft keys will let you CLEAR the message and it will tell you where it came from. It's set by anybody calling your phone, and randomly, it is set by dialing your extension plus "4". Oops. It's a Pana mystery :-)
If you call your service provider, they should be able to clear it, provided all messages have been read and you don't have any voicemail waiting to be heard. They can send a "0" count through their switch (processor) to your device which will in turn clear your message waiting indicator.
I had the same problem, and the reason is that you have to much sms (usually >2000). You have to delete unnecessary ones, go to enabled applications, uncheck message notification, go back to the home screen, and go to enabled applications to check message notification again. The message notification will display again
Your voice mail is probably set to send notification for the first message only. No matter how many are in there, it will only tell you once. You may be able to change the notification type, depending on your voice mail.
